and expect annother supply of federal blanks soon.
Time of application expires July 1,1926,those who
have not made application are urged to do so.

MEMBERSHIP; Will hold meetimg monday evening to
formulate plans for campaign for new members.

arraign for a game and dance for the intertainment
of the Auxiliary. Also planning for the annual
dinner some time in April.

a very enjoyable evening.

Our canidate decided to withwraw from the race
atfer a caucus.Buddie Greenfield the successful
canidate has a very active record as a legionare
and all members is urged to support him.

That A.Dingfield Ch.G.M. U.S.N. Officer in charge
of recruiting in Freeport,be given permission to
use the Dug-Out from about 10:00 a.m. to about
~ 4: p.m. for recruiting purposes, permission may be
~ revocked upon 30 days notice;Equipment shall not
exceed 25 sq.ft.after closing hours;and that the
officer in charge of· Navy recruiting,will be responsible
for all property of this post during

Congresmnan Bacon adre eaed the· gathering in
regards to Axiation- legislation.
After Col.Feloye of Mitchell Field heard the
program of Nassau Co. S, }lob. read, The Col. placed
all facilities of Mitchell Field at the Legiohe
disposal in case of emmergency. ·
The Co.Mob.will take place on Nov.ll-26.
plans to be made known later.
CO.CONVENTION: Reports that our Comdr.wae
elected a delegate to state con.After some
deliberations and a lot of talk Inwood was
awarded the Co.banner for the comimg year.
BEACH PARTY COY.: The party was a great suceess
4 boats were used to convey it toJ the beach.

Tho Llemborship Committee was formed at the Or ganuzaticn
lleoting of the new officers last year .
At the first mooting of the Committee , tho Post
Record Cards of the men who h~c been members at
some former t :i.mo wore gone over , u.nd these cards
wore distributed among the meubers of the Committee
and wore either telephoned or called upon personally
In this way a largo por~entage of tho old membership
wore brought back to the fold .
Dis~lay Posters and placards were purchased from
National Headquarters and uero distributed througt out
Freeport and tho neighboring Towns . The largo
Poster was mounted on a linen background and
attatched to the drop at the Freeport Theatre where
it wao sl,own at each performance for a period of
two weeks.
A find , the "Unknown Soldier" stunt , was pulled at
tbo Freeport Theatre , under the direction of Cliff
Ilahnkcn, whm was asked to handle this job for me ,
as I could not bo there . If nothing else, we receive
a lot of advertising.
Through the Publicity Officer of the Pest, s.-.
Gorber ,notices wore run in the Freeport Recorder ,
and the Daily Review , regarding membership .
Another idea suggested by cur Commander , was
the marking of application cards and distributing
to tho members , and when the ... J m,. rlT J ds wero
brought in with a now member's appl ication, tho
man who signed him up , initialed tho card .

County Comdr. Ed Greenfield who in a very able mann~
installed the newly elected officers.After the
insallation the chair and gaval was surrendered to
post co ru dr.~rank Poet.
• A motion was adopted to omit the reading of
the minutes of the previous ~eeting •
Personnel officer reported the membership
totaled 222 reg. and ~assoc. meniliere.for 1926,and
two paid for 1927·
Motion was adopted accepting the money sent
to the comdr. b. branch 1153 N. A. L. c. and place same
in welfare fund and letter be written to them
informing t hem that in the future donations will
be returned.
A motion was passed in favor of court-marshelling
Leo Maher at t he next n;.eeting.
Intertainment com. reports t hat arraingments

in Bklyn, on Oct.4th. tickets are f.l.25 each.
and that about $500.00 has b en colleeted for adds

talk by the County Commander.

efforts in ge t ting the new Fire Hall for our
Armistic Dance.

for the Armistice Dance and from all indications
it will be a big success,and urges all members to
talk it up among friends.
Welfare has secured work for one veteran
driving a truck , is working on a Spanish war
pension for another.

At a latter date will take up a collection at

shown at Freeport Theatre which is expected to
influence increase in membership.A coneerted effort
