THAT JUSTICE MAY BE DONE
a In another column of The Daily Review will be found a list, sent out by the Federal Government, which shows those who evaded service, ac¬ cording to the government announce¬ ment, during the World War.
The publication of this list is done, for the purpose of doing Justice to those who served honorably and well.
Some of those Qn tho lists have been found to be thero by error or their names have been placed with the draft evaders because in their anxiety to see service they neglected the formalities and sought the easiest and quickest way to action.
Some of them enlisted far from home and never told anyone where. ^ iirAl ITKM

>Iotorist8, bikers and campers take grave chances when they drink water from unknown sources.
Wayside brooks and springs are often badiy polluted and may be cap¬ able of causing typhoid fever or other seriotis Intestinal disorders. Even farm wells should be looked on wt^b suspicion, for convenience rather than safety usually governs the loca¬ tion of sueh wells, which reaults in their being placed too close to sources of contamination.
Only springs in sandy soil remote from roads and human habitations, should be conaidered safe for drink¬ ing purposes. The better course is to carry an adeqiuate supply from a source known to be pure or to boll all drinking water.

While many of them were told to notify their draft boards au to their whereabouts they were already abroad and were too busy doing other things to give heed to warnings as to for- I mal things they should observe.
Somo of them got their notices to report before their draft boards while ¦they were serving in ^r^ncp or in camps here. Sometimifti fhfr" notices were thrown away with a laugh or misplaced but seldom answered.
These men's names may appear in the slacker lists now being publish¬ ed. The Dally Review assumes no responsibility but publishes the list 'as it is given out by the Pederal Government. An effort has been niade to investigale these cases and some errors lM«|f been found. If any man's name appears in the lists and it should not be there. The Daily Review will gladly give publicity to correct the government list. If any person knows, of his own knowledge or in any other way that an injustice is made to any one In the publication of this list it will be considered a Just and honorable thing to ask The Dally Keview ^o print a correc-. tion setting forth all the facts.
The list is published in justice to those who served honorably and well aud who are entitled to all the thanks at a grateful country and people.

STOP REFUSE DUMPINO
When "ladies" drive Into a ijian's home premises and pull little ever¬ green trees set out to ornament the premises; when "gentlemen" drop a barrelful of rubbish at the side of a beautiful wooded road; when store¬ keepers sent out iruckloads ot trash ta bo dumped along the public high* ways, it is small wonder that patience is exhausted..
These very conditions, in the Town of Hempstead, have led to public protest. The Town Board has been asked to stop tho practices. The Boards of Health of tbe town of Hempstead aud of tbe incorporated villagm within the township boun¬ daries . haiv beeu appealed to for actton. Now lndlvtd^als are askfed to help in H general crusade agaiiist these ndisances.^
It is a reasonable cause! Creation of nuisances along the public roada is not Justitied. It Is unnecessary and unlawful, ' It should be stopped.

Sir: In your Issue of June 6, you stated in cowraenUng upon tba unfor¬ tunate accident which resulted in tbc death ot Jesse P. Brundage, treasurer of Rogers, Peet & Co., that h*- wgn at that ttme under a charge of reckle.ss driving while intoxicated tn the village ot Preeport^ I think in all fainiesM to the widow of Mr. Brundage and his numerous friends, that this article .should be coc;:ected, as thare was no eharge of Intoxication in the complaint against Mr. Brundape for violating the trafflc rules. I represented Mr. Brund¬ age on this mxaslon and know that there was nothing In the complaint rela¬ tive to intoxication in any way. The oharge was merely a, technica.! violation of the trafflc rules and highway law.
Trusting that you in all fairness will correct the impression which has been created by the article referred to, I le- maui.
Yours very truly,
