Lenora Bedell, of Hempstead.
The de<-isiop holds, Ijowever, that .Xsbdown's divorce from Lenora Bedell, obtained at Reno, Nev., was null and void and, consequently, his subsequent marriage to the second Mrs. AshdOwn was null and void. As the flrst Mrs Ashdown later obtained a divorce in Nassau County, tbe decision leaves her, Mr. Ashdown, and the second wife, free th nutrry again.
Mr. Ashdown and his second wile met at Reno where both were awaiting divorces in January, 1817. She waa jinx'uring a divorce from Dr. C. L. Sicard of Manhattan. Both were suc¬ cessful, and in March of the same year went to Stamford, Conn., where lhey were nuirrled by Justice of the Peace Justus J. Barthel. They lived at various times at the Hotel Endlcott, Manhuttan, the Hotel Savoy, Boston, and at 1447 Ot^ean Avenue, Brooklyn. They separated In July, 1919, Mrs. Ashdown alleging that her second hus- mand had thrice attempted.to have her confined In a sanitarium and also that be was unfaithful to her. On one oc¬ casion, she claimed, he stupllled her with chartreuse.
