Ocean Side. April 16.—Tbo Liberty Five Basketball team ended Its season with a victory over Company M at thf Hempstead Armory last Saturdiy night. The score was 2S to 08. Tbe Liberties did aome swift pass work and laiskct shooting. Tbe Ifne-up con¬ sisted ot yVyres and Ounther, for%vardfi; Hill und Beyer, guurdi* und (Jtis I.4ing- don, center.
HIII und Beyer guarded closely arul shot some goo<l lui.skclH. Lungdon was there with springs on. Jumping and shooting while Ayres aiul Ounther |)layed fust ull the time, keeping their guards busy.
It was s.Tld that Company M had an off night Ix'cause .Monroe waa out, but that was their hard luck. Uyan did some good playing for Ux'di. This was
also the laat game for tbc Hempstead team.
Tho LH)erty Five's record for the season is 36 games won out of 40 played. Two games were lost to teams outside of Nasaau County; one to tbe .Vew York 8<'rvice Five and the'other to Rabylon at Babylon.
The LIherty Five has defeated every team In Nassau County it played with, except Floral Park. After the Uoek¬ viile Centre. Baldwin and Hempstead Legion teams had defeated Florifl Park they decided not to play Ocean Side. They also gave Freeport a "standup" and disappointed a lai"ge number of spectators who had gathered to see what j<ind of champions they were. I-, view of this record us compared tn that of Ocean Side LIherty Five, the Liherties claim the championship of Nnssau County.
