Ccitalane - Farrell
Old St. Mary's Catholic Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was
the setting for the marriage of Carole Elizabeth Catalane of
Milwaukee and William John Farrell of Farmingdale.
Miss Anne Catalane, sister of the bride, was Maid of Honor.
Miss Catalane's other four sisters served as her bridesmaids.
Michael Farrell, of Farmingdale, served as his brother's best
man. The bridegroom's brother, James an attorney in Milwaukee,
acted as head usher.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. John F. Catalane of Fox
Point, Wisconsin and the late Mrs. Lillian Catalane. She attended
San Diego University and Cardinal- Stritch College, where she
majored in art.
The bridegroom is the son of Assistant Chief Police Inspector
and Mrs. James Farrell of Merritt Road, Farmingdale. He is an
alumnus of St. Bonaventure University and was graduated on June
2, 1968 from Marquette University Law School.
Following a honeymoon in Puerto Rico, thenewlyweds plan to make
their home in Great Neck.
Mrs. Donald Trudden Elected
President Of Kiwanettes
Mrs. Donald Trudden was installed
as President of the Farmingdale
Kiwanettes at a recent
dinner installation ceremony.
Other officers installed were:

Mrs. Anton Kaiser, Secretary;
and Mrs. Ronald Shircore,
Treasurer.
Outgoing President, Mrs. David
Eysmann was presented with
a plaque and gold bracelet in
appreciation of her outstanding
leadership as president.
Vacation Bible School Next Week
At Baptist Church
The Annual Vacation Bible
School at Farmingdale Baptist
Church will be held daily next
week Monday through Friday
from 9 a. m. until noon. All
children, ages three to 12, are
eligible to attend.
Planned and directed activities
include arts and crafts, stories,
singing, recreation, and refreshments.
Trained personnel will
work with various age groups.
Transportation will be provided,

' Witnesses' Get Ready
For D. C. Conclave
" Our congregation is going
to be much better equipped to
handle the Bible soon," said
William Davis, presiding minister
of the Farmingdale congregation
of Jehovah's Witnesses
earlier this week.
" We'll be better equipped because
many of us are going to
Washington, D. C. for a four-day
Bible instruction program,
July 18 through 21," Mr. Davis
added. " Since we work quite
a lot in Farmingdale going from
house- to- house," he continued,
" rJiis convention will furnish us
with suggestions for conducting
our public ministry and will particularly
benefit by helping us
to adapt our door - to- door message
for the crucial situations
that present themselves to all
of us now."

Street, Farmingdale was Installed
as President of the Junior
League of the Woman's Club of
Farmingdale at ceremonies held
last week. The installation was
conducted by Mrs. John Gillies,
newly elected President of the
Farmingdale Woman's Club.

33 Faculty Joggers
Honored At Luncheon
33 members of the Faculty
Jogging Club of the State University
Agricultural and Technical
College at Farmingdale,
survivors of an original squad of
42 were honored at a testimonial
luncheon on Thursday at Knapp
Hall.
The professors, headed by Dr.
Charles W. Laffin, Jr., President
of State University at Farmi
n g d a l e , and Mrs. Laffin,
launched their 12- week project
in February, and regardless of
weather, snow, sleet, rain, winds,
etc., finished the organized program.
The Aggies pioneered this
" Jogging for Life" program in
the Eastern intercollegiate world
and it probably is the only college
in the country where the Faculty
went through medical examinations
before and after and continued
a program uninterrupted.
Each jogger averaged a minimal
two miles three times weekly for
total of 72. Collectively the 33
survivors covered a distance of
2,376 miles, a distance from
Farmingdale to Salt Lake City
and Yellowstone National Park,
or to Miami Beach and return.

On Fire Department History
The Farmingdale - Bethpage
Historical Society meeting, which
had been postponed two weeks ago
due to the death of Senator Robert
F. Kennedy, has been rescheduled
for Sunday, June 23
at 3 p. m.
Edward Keck, former Chief of
the Farmingdale Fire Department
will speak on the history
of the department.
Election of officers will also
be held.
Rendu Advanced To Group Manager
Frank Renda, of 585 Carman
Rd., South Farmingdale, has advanced
to Group Manager status
with Investors Planning Corporation
of America. The firm is one
of the nation's largest Mutual
Fund sales organizations.
Renda is an active member of
the Ad Hoc Committee Community
Relations of Westbury, the
" Fact" Committee of Farming-dale
and a member of " Friends
of Farmingdale Library".
Sheila Shapiro Accepted For Advanced Study
Miss Sheila A. Shapiro, a
teacher at Mill Lane Junior High,
has been accepted as one of 45
participants in the Institute for
Advanced Study in Spanish to be
conducted this summer at El-mira
College.
