Be Inducted Into Honor Society

will be officially inducted into
the National Honor Society at
a ceremony to be held at the
High School auditorium this Friday
at 8: 15 a. m. A reception
will be held after the induction
in the library.
To be eligible, Seniors must
have maintained a scholastic
average of 85% or better for
three years. Juniors must have
maintained a average of 85% or
better for twoand one- half years.
The Faculty Advisory Board

for choir, orchestra, and
other media to be presented in
concert in Massapequa on Sunday
March 10 at Grace Episcopal
Church. The composition, by Ed
Summerlin, is based on Johann
Sebastian Bach's Easter Cantata:
" Christ Lay In Death's Dark
Prison," with which the mass
choir will open the program.

The Fearless made port calls

Carl E. Gorton, of 76 Lockwood Avenue, Farmingdale, and a
member of the library board, is pictured showing the filmstrip
" Indoctrination or Education" at the John Birch Society meeting
held Monday night at the South Farmingdale Branch Library. This
filmstrip, which depicts the text book, " Land of the Free' as
Communist oriented was the the same one which John Birch Society
member Edward Werner had^ attempted unsuccessfully to show at a
recent District 22 Board of Education meeting due to the fact that
the book in question is not in the Farmingdale Public Schools, according
to the Board. Gorton also showed a filmstrip depicting
the United Nations as a Communist dominated organization. There
were as many so- called liberals in the audience as Birch society
members on Monday night.
