K C Holds Awards Night
Award Night festivities were
held by the Knights of Columbus
Parmingdale Council last Friday
evening at the Council Home.
Plaques were given to Leonard
Oliveri, who served the Council
in the capacity of Grand Knight
in 1966- 1967 and to Past Presidents
of the Farmingdale Catholic
Center Inc., George Engel
and Walter Livey.
Floral bouquets were presented
to the wives of each of the men.
Honorary lifetime membership
awards were presented to Alois
Leyendecker, Joseph Stockert,
George Whelan and Robert Spencer.
Leyendecker who joined the
K of C in 1919, is a charter
member of the Farmingdale
Council and serve 1 as Grand
Knight. Stockert is also a charter
member of the Farmingdale
Council. Whelan joined the
KofC in 1921.
The Honorary Lifetime Membership
award is given to Knights
who have been members in good
standing for 25 years and have
reached the age of 65.
Robert Spencer who served
the Council as the eleventh Grand
Knight received his 25 year pin.
Frank Simone, chairman of the
event, Michael Tilleli. John
Leahy and Charles Greco, made
the award presentations.

" Queen For A Knight' Dance
Farmingdale Council, Knights
of Columbus is making plans for
their Seventh Annual " Queen for
a Knight" Dance to be held on
Saturday, February 17 at the
Council Home at Morton St. and
Garity Place.
Tony Forlano and his orchestra
will provide music for dancing
from 9 p. m. to 1: 00 a. m. The
" Queen" will receive flowers and
a gift during the Coronation.

Virginia C Reisiiiger, Teacher,
Passes Away Suddenly
Virginia C. Reisinger of 84
Jefferson Road, Farmingdale,
passed away suddenly last Monday.
Mrs. Reisinger, a teacher
in the Farmingdale School District,
is survived by her husband,
John, a daughter, Janet
Cunolo. and a brother Virgil
Cooper Jr. The funeral was
held at the McCourt and Trudden
Funeral Home. A Requiem Mass
was offered at St. Kilian's R. C.
Church last Friday, followed by
interment at St. Charles Cemetery.
Suler Assumes
CAP Unit
In a ceremony held last Tuesday,
Captain John P. Suler of
Farmingdale assume command
of the Bethpage Flight, Nassau
Composite Squadron V, Civil Air
Patrol.
Captain Suler, formerly the
Administrative Officer of the
local Squadron has been with the
group as a volunteer since 1961
and has participated in most of
the major activities of the organization.
The new flight leader resides
at 16 Hitchcok Lane with his
wife Doris and four children.
To Celebrate
Fifth Anniversary
The Farmingdale Baptist
Church is celebrating the Pastor's
anniversary on Sunday. The
Rev. Larry Walker is beginning
his fifth year as Pastor of the
church.
The congregation in its new
facilities will observe the first
Baptism in the new facility
as well as a time of " parent
dedication and worker recognition".
Sunday school hour begins
at 9: 45 a. m. and morning
worship at 11 a. m.
Obituaries
Rose L. Kurtz of 108 Cherry
Street, Farmingdale passed a-way
last week. She is survived
by a brother, Albert J. Kurtz
of Farmingdale.
A Mass was held at St. Kilian's
R. C. Church.
The funeral was under the
direction of the Arthur F. White
Funeral Home.
John P. Beierling of 97 Grand
Avenue, Farmingdale passed on
last week.
He i s survived by his daughters,
Eunice Schaaf and Claire
Ettmger and by his son, John
Beierling; nine grand children
and 11 great- grandchildren. He
i s also survived by two sisters,
Emma Nelson and Estelle Ains-worth.
The deceased was an Ex- Chief
of the Farmingdale Fire Department
and a Past President of the
Benevolent Association.
Religious services were conducted
by the Reverend Kenneth
Hoover, Pastor of the Farming-dale
Methodist Church on Tuesday.
Interment followed at Beth-page
Cemetery. Fire Department
services were held on Monday
evening.
The funeral was under the
direction of the Arthur F. White
Funeral Home.
Thomas L. Conlan, Senior of 32
Doud Street, Farmingdale passed
away on Saturday.
He i s survived by his two sons,
Thomas L. Jr., and John D.
Conlan; three grandchildren and
by his sisters, Kathleen Ulrich,
Helen Johnston, Marge Or-rignotti,
Celestine Richardson
and a brother, John Conlan. He
was the husband of the late Freida
Conlan.
A Requiem Mass was held on
Wednesday at St. Kilian's R. C.
Church.
