Carnival Time At High School
The Student Council of Farm-ingdale
Senior High School will
hold their first Farmingdale Carnival
this Saturday at Farming-dale
High School. A member of
extra - curricular clubs and
organizations will sponsor booths
and concessions in order to earn
money for their clubs. There will
be food concessions, games and
prizes. For the kiddies, there
will be a special cartoon show
at 2: 30 and again at 4: 30 p. m.
There will also be special booths
sponsored by the Photography
club taking both gag and portrait
The Carnival will be open from
2: 30 - 4: 40 p. m. for kindergartener
to sixth grades and at night
from 7 to 11 for grades 7 and
Admission to the fair is 25£.
Pre Easter Services To
Highlight Noted Speaker
Pre- Easter services will be
held this Sunday, April 7 and will
continue each evening through
Friday at the Farmingdale Baptist
Church. Dr. Don Dyer, Pastor
of the Plymouth Park Baptist
Park Irving, Texas, will be
the guest speaker for the week's
series. The speaker was selected
pastor of the year in Texas.
Sunday night services will begin
at 7 p. m. Monday through Friday
services will be held at 8
Officer Induction Slated By
E. Farmingdale Industrial Group
Induction of new officers will
highlight the April meeting of the
East Farmingdale Industrial Association
at a Dinner- Dance to be
held on Saturday, April 20th at
8: 00 p. m. at Ruby's Club Room,

Israeli Official To
Bermon Yeuhuda, a member
of the Israeli Consulate will speak
on the topic, " Israel After the
War" at the Sisterhood of the
Farmingdale Jewish Center's
next regular meeting on Tuesday,
April 9 at 8: 30 p. m. at
the Farmingdale Jewish Center,
Prospect Street and Cobb Place,
TOB Expands Counsellor
The Oyster Bay Town Department
of Recreation this week
expanding its counsellor- in-training
course to also include
volunteers working in the handicapped
Town Board Majority Leader,
Ralph J. Marino, said the program
initially only for high school
juniors and seniors, prepares
students for jobs in camping and
The special course being added
is for volunteers working in
the town's group activities program
for handicapped children.
Also included in the course
are: adapted games, first aid,
health, safety, special programs,
arts and crafts and a discussion
and film pertaining to working
with and understanding the handicapped.
Herbert Malamed, Plainedge
physical education instructor, is
conducting the course every
Tuesday, 7: 30 to 9 p. m. at the
Oak Drive School in Plainview.

Hospital, Amilyville. He is

John L. Gotab, age 12, of Melville
passed away at Huntington
Hospital. The son of Violet M.
Gotab and the late, Louis J. Gotab,
he is survived by his grandparents,
Adam and Anna Gotab of
Farmingdale and a sister, Paul-ette.
A Requiem Mass was recited
at St. Kilian's R. C. Church on
Tuesday, followed by interment
in Long Island National Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were

CAP Gets Top Rating
For the second year in succession,
Nassau Composite Squadron
Five, Farmingdale - Bethpage
Civil Air Patrol has been a-warded
top rating by the New
York Wing in information activities
standings for 1967.
The ratings recently released
by the National Headquarters
placed the local squadron in the
top spot above 166 other chartered
units in the state. Information
activities cover a variety
of public relations items
all of which tell the Civil Air
Patrol story such as news
releases, photographs printed,
radio spot announcements, exhibits,
film showings, special reports
The squadron Information Officer,
a Major in the Air Force
Reserve assigned to C. A. P., will
be the recipient of a special
certificate to be presented by
the Wing Commander at the Annual
Wing Conference scheduled
for Saturday, April 6th. in Mon-ticello,

one of the Units special promotional programs, " Buck Cancer with a Buck" following their
