The Wheaton College Chapter
of Phi Beta Kappa at Norton,
Massachusetts, announced the
election of Mary Jean Manker as
a Member- in- Course. She was
one of 14 seniors intitiated into
the honor society last Friday.
Miss Manker, whose major is
American History, is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Frank W.
Manker, Merritt Rd., Farming-dale.
Louis Verardo, 133 Walnut
Street, Massapequa Park, was
inducted into the newly chartered
chapter of the National
Honor Society at St. Pius X
Preparatory Seminary in Union-dale.
Verardo was also one of ten
members of the senior class
named as winner of the New
York Regents scholarships.

has been named to the
David Slansky, of 47 William
St., Farmingdale, a freshman at
Swarthmore College in Swarth-more,
Pennsylvania, has just
pledged the Swarthmore Chapter
of Phi Omicron Psi Fraternity.

Richard B. Curtin of 12 Wall
Street, Farmingdale, a biology
major at Rutgers University is
practice teaching at PIscataway
High School, Staten Island.
Richard O'Leary, of 23 N.
Crescent Drive, Farmingdale, a
junior at Augustana College, Rock
Island, Illinois is a member of
the Augustana Choir which left
last week on an annual spring
tour.
The choir will make 13 appearances
during a two week trip
through five midwestern states.
On May 6, the choir will give a
benefit performance of Pablo
Casals' oratorio, " El Pes-sebre,"
in Chicago's Auditorium
Theater.
Kevin F. Crawford son of Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Crawford of 264
Jerusalem Avenue, Massapequa,
a student at Niagara University,
was recently elected Senator for
the coming year.
Crawford is majoring in Business
Administration and is a
member of the Knick District
Club, the Intramural Football and
Basketball Teams and the Football
Club.
He is a graduate of Chaminade
High School where he was a member
of the Track and Cross Country
teams.
