Park, a student at Wheaton
College in Illinois has received
a commission in the signal corps
of the ROTC.

Joan Perririni of 81 Ohio Avenue,
Massapequa will participate
in a teachers study seminar in
India. She is a teacher at West
Islip High School.
She will spend ten weeks in India
visiting various regions, studying
social and cultural institutions,
and meeting with university and
Indian government officials.
The program was set up by the
New York State Education Department
to help teachers develop
an understanding of major ' neglected
cultures'.

William Meagher, a Health Education
major at the State University
College at Cortland from
Massapequa Park, has been elected
Treasurer of Board of Governors
for the 1968 academic
year. He has also been elected
as Historian of Cardinal Key.
Meagher is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. William C. Meagher of 2
Anthony Lane, Massapequa Park.

Christopher Klesh, a sophomore
at Indiana University,
Bloom ington, Indiana played the
Timpani in a concert held last
Saturday by the Varsity- Civic
Band, the Brass Band and the
Concert Band.
Among the selections were " A
Festival Prelude" by Alfred
Reed," " Toccata for Band" by
Frank Erickson, " English Suite"
by Clare Gundman and " On the
Mall", by Edwin Franko Goldman.

awarded a partial four year academic
scholarship to St. John's
University.
Louis is a senior at St. Pius

Art Show
An outdoor art show and a
program on pastel painting techniques
have been scheduled by
the F- A- M Art Group.
The art show will be held on
the lawn at City of Glass, Farmingdale,
from 11: 00 a. m. to 5: 00
p. m. this Sunday, May 19 and
will include members' works, in
oils, watercolors, acrylics,
woodcarving and various crafts,
some of which will be for sale.
Award winners of F- A- M'srecent
indoor annual exhibit were;
Arbilla Neumann, for a wood-carving;
Joan Brodowski, untitled
painting in acrylic; Mary Thompson,
acrylic painting " Sunday";
and honorable mention ribbons
were awarded to Lillian Banks,
Mary Berti, Tom Constantine,
Allen Cunningham and Eleanor
Steinle.
Interested non- members may
attend the program of the group's
monthly meeting on Thursday,
May 23, at 9: 30 p. m. at Mar-jorie
Post Park Community Park.

Hold Auction
The Women's Auxiliary of the
Grace Episcopal Church will hold
its annual Auction and Rummage
Sale on the church grounds, Cedar
Drive and Merrick Rd., on Saturday
May 25th from 10 a. m. to
5 p. m. There will be clothing,
furniture, toys, books and bric-a-
brac for sale.

Dance Theme

be the theme of a dance to be held

The Massapequa Public Library
will hold a public budget
presentation on Tuesday evening,
May 21, at the Bar Harbour
Building. The meeting will begin
at 8: 30 p. m.
The 1968 - 1969 proposed budget,
which will be submitted to
taxpayers on June 5 at the same
time as the school budget, will
be reviewed and explained. The
budget calls for a tax rate of 45£
per hundred dollars of assessed
valuation, a 2( 5 increase over
the current budget, and the first
requested increase in three
years.
Religion And World Peace
Noted Speakers To Talk On
A forum on Religion and World
Peace will be held this Sunday
afternoon and evening, at
the Community Methodist Church
Massapequa.
Speakers on the afternoon panel
will be Dr. John Uhlman and
Dr. Carl Soule. Dr. Uhlman is
Professor at Hofstra University
and Ur. Soule is Executive Secretary
for the Division of Peace and
World Order on the Board of
Christian Social Concerns of the
Methodist Church.
Rev. Richard Williams, host
pastor, will be moderator for the
afternoon session which starts
at 3: 00 p. m. Dr. Harold Krant-zler,
Rabbi from TemDle Judea,
will sum up the afternoon discussion.
At 8: 00 p. m. three theologians
will speak on the question of
war and peace. Rabbi LloydTan-enbaum
from the Huntington Jewish
Center will present the Judaic
point of view. Father Charles
Kohli of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic
Church in Glen Cove will
present the Catholic vew and Dr.
Harold Bosley from Christ
Church Methodist, New York
City, will talk from a Protestant
standpoint.
Between the after noon and evening
sessions food will be available
from 6: 00 to 8 p. m.

SEALED PROPOSALS must be
received and stamped by the Director
of Purchasing of the Town
of Oyster Bay, at his office located
at Town Hall, Oyster Bay,
N. Y., not later than 11: 00 A. M.,
prevailing time on Wednesday,
May 22, 1968, following which
time they will be publicly opened
and read and the Contract awarded
as soon thereafter as practicable
for: Eel Grass Nets and
Decomposition Pens Contract No.
DB- 68- 105. The Information for
Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of
Bid Bond, Form of Contract,
Specifications and Plans may be
obtained on and after May 13,
1968, at the Office of the Town
Clerk, Town Hall, Oyster Bay,
New York, during regular business
hours, 9: 00 A. M. to 4: 45
P. M., Monday through Friday,
and copies thereof may be obtained
upon payment of Twenty-
Five Dollars ($ 25.00) for each
set. Any bidder, other than the
successful bidder in all contracts,
upon returning such set
promptly and in good condition,
within 30 days after the date of r e -
ceivingbids, will be refunded his
payment and any non- bidder, upon
so returning such set, will be
refunded the sum of Fifteen Dollars,
($ 15.00).
Each bid must be accomanied
by a certified check or acceptable
bid bond in the amount of not less
than five per centum ( 5%) of the
bid and made payable to the Town
of Oyster Bay.
The Town Board reserves the
right to reject any or all bids in
whole or in part, to waive any
informality in any or all bids and
to accept the bid or part thereof
which it deems most favorable to
the Town after all bids have been
examined and checked. No bid
shall be withdrawn for a period
of 45 days after being publicly
opened and read.
In the event bids are rejected, or
no bids are received, the Town
Clerk is authorized to re- advertise
for bids upon direction of
the Town Board.
Attention of bidders is particularly
called to the requirement
( A) to comply with all the provisions
of the Labor Laws of the
State of New York, ( B) a Public
Liability and Property Damage
Insurance Policy and Performance
and Labor and Material
Bonds will be required to be
furnished, as set forth in the Instruction
to Bidders and/ or the
Contract Form, and ( C) the Non-
Collusive Bidding Certification
must be signed prior to the submission
of a bid.
