a helicopter pilot course at
the Army Primary Helicopter
School, Ft. Wolters, Tex.
During the 16- week course,
he was trained to fly Army
helicopters and learned to
use them in tactical maneuvers.
He next will undergo advanced
flight training at
Hunter Army Airfield, Ga.
Upon completion of advanced
training he may be
appointed a warrant officer.

the 11th Infantry Brigade,
America! Divison near Due
Pho Vietnam, as a rifleman.

vehicle mechanic course at
Ft. Jackson, S. C
During the eight- week
course, he was trained to
repair internal combustion
engines and wheeled vehicle
chassis components. Instruction
was given in the fundamentals
of electrical and
transmission systems.

in Vietnam as a rifleman.

to the 27th Engineer Battalion
near Gia Le, Vietnam,
as a crawler tractor operator.
John T. DiDonato, son of

promoted to airman first
class in the U. S. Air Force.
Airman DiDonato is a data
programming specialist at
the Air Force Accounting
and Finance Center, Denver.
The airman was graduated
in 1966 from Plain-edge
High School.

as an infantryman
with Company B, 2nd Battalion,
16th Infantry, 1st Infantry
Divison in Vietnam.
Army Private Brian P.
Geary, 20, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Harold P. Geary, 93
Division Ave., Massapequa,
N. Y., completed nine weeks
of advanced infantry training
at Ft. McClellan, Ala.
The course, which simulates
Vietnam conditions,
includes training in such
subjects as land navigation,
communications, patrolling,
guerrilla and survival techniques
plus qualification
with infantry weapons.
Fifth Graders Keep In Touch
With Vietnam Servicemen
The fifth and sixth grades
of Main Street School have
again written letters to local
servicemen stationed in
Vietnam.
The letters are enclosed
in the monthly packages sent
by the Vietnam Assistance
' Committee to servicemen
serving in Vietnam. In addition
to the letter, the package
contains candy, pens,
stationery and playing cards.
The Vietnam Assistance
Committee is seeking new
members. The group holds
membership meetings on
Mondays at 8: 30 p. m. at
the Albany AVP. School.

G. Doyle, 20, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Peter Joseph
Doyle, 177 First St., Bethpage,
N. Y., was assigned
to the 229th Supply and Service
Company near Long
Binh, Vietnam.
Spec. Doyle entered the
Army in May 1968 and
completed his basic training
at Ft. Jackson, S. C He was
last stationed at Ft. Lee,
Va.
He is a 1966 graduate of
Bethpage High School.

exercise of the year, the

units.

was graduated from
Basic Supply Organic Accounting
School near Danang,
Vietnam.
The course, established
by Marine Force Logistic
Command ( FLC), is conducted
at FLC's Camp
Books Headquarters, eight
miles northwest of Danang.
It is designed to offer
supply personnel " step- by-step"
refresher instruction
in basic supply procedures,
accounting and administration.
