Village Stops Occupancy OK
Until Better Roads Installed
The Board of Trustees of The
Incorporated Village of Massa-pequa
Park decided not to issue
any more certificates of occupancy
to the homes in Baywood
Homes until better temporary
roads are installed. Trustee
Jerry King said that the area is
a health hazard." Red dust flies
and calcium choloride is no
answer. With a rain there would
be suts and puddles and the same
thing would happen as in other
areas without roads, the residents
would be denied services
since delivery trucks refuse to
go down in such roads as do school
buses, he said.
Burglaries Reported By Police
Donald Pitcher, of 76 Grand
Ave., Massapequa, reports the
burglary of his place of business.
Entry was gained through a rear
window.
A Stewart Nolan, of
150 Cove Street, Massapequa, reports
the burglary of his home.
Currency and jewelry were taken.
Homer Mooney, of 243 N. Pine,
Massapequa, reported the loss of
currency from his home. Entry
was made through a side window.
The Pizza Oven, at906Carman
Road at the InterCountyShopping
Center was burglarized. Currency
was found to be missing.

Record Straight
Farmingdale Public Library
Trustee Warren Altmann went
on record this week that he had
not voted with Trustee Carl E.
Gorton on all resolutions last
Tuesday at the Farmingdale Public
Library. He said that he had
not voted in favor of hiring librarian
Edward Horton to lead the
library discussion groups.
He also pointed out that the
motion had failed on appointing
a part time librarian as a community
group representative.
Altmann also wished to make it
clear that he had voted in favor
of giving Library Director Dow
the reimbursement for his expenses
when he returned from
vacation for a library board
meeting.

Susan Mayer Bride
Of Allen Lee Sessoms
Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Mayer of
131 Chester Ave., Massapequa
Park, announced the marriage of
their daughter, Susan Beatrice
last Saturday to Allen Lee Sessoms,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Sessoms of the Bronx and
Bay Shore.
The bride is a 1966 graduate
of Berner High School and attended
the Boston Conservatory,
where she was a dance major.
The groom is a graduate of Union
College, where he excelled in
sports and graduated with honors.
Allen worked as a researcher
in the High Energy Physics
Group of the Accelerator Department
at Brook haven National
Laboratory this summer. He will
be attending the University of
Washington, as a Teaching Fellow,
while working for his Ph. D.
in Nuclear Physics, this fall.
The young couple will reside
on the University campus in Seattle,
Washington.
TRANSFERS TO STATE COFFERS - Because of the Real Estate
Transfer Tax passed by the last legislature and effective August
1, 1968, the tax imposed upon each deed transferring real property
goes to the State instead of the federal treasury ( prior to 1967)
and is collected at the County Clerk's office. Nassau County
Clerk Harold W. McConnell writes a check for $ 53,415 for August,
the first month the new law was in operation. Looking on is
County Comptroller Angelo D. Roncallo.
