How I Lost 60 Lbs.
( Continued from Page 5)
It took nine months to lose 56 1/ 2
pounds from April to December.
I lost an additional 4 1/ 4 pounds
on Maintenance. In this time,
I was changing my eating patterns
- and also changing my
cooking ways. I was cooking without
fat - each week a new recipe
would be placed on the bulletin
board at " Think Thin". One could
also learn a lot from the other
students. It is the little ways of
cooking which would add to extra
weight loss.
Finally My Attitude Changed
Finally, during the loss of
my last ten pounds my attitude
changed. I no longer thought of
food as the most important thing
in life and celebrations no longer
had to be centered around
eating and drinking - good conversation,
atmosphere and music
became' the more important part
of holidays and celebrations
to me. Holidays are often pitfalls
for the obese.
It was the healthiest way to
lose weight - I ended up looking
trim without looking haggard and
without any sagging flesh. Fat
was burned off, but never tissue
nor muscle. I am now a happy
size 12 and I intend to stay this
way.

New York State's new all- car inspection law will greatly increase
the number of inspections to be made. At the beginning of this
program, delays in obtaining inspections may be encountered.
To avoid any delays or inconvenience, the Department of
Motor Vehicles makes these suggestions, based on the schedule
at left:
P If your vehicle falls within Groups 3 or 4, have it inspected as
early as possible. The next time you bring your vehicle in to
be serviced may be the most convenient time to have the inspection
made.
) If your vehicle falls within Group One, have it inspected as
early as possible during your scheduled inspection month.
( Remember that for these vehicles, the scheduled month of
inspection includes the specific month set forth in the schedule
and the month immediately preceding.)
£ If your vehicle falls within Group Two, have it inspected as
early as possible in October.
Remember that except for vehicles in Group Three, your vehicle
must be inspected before you may renew your registration
next time.
