Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Schwartz ( right) of 36
Regina Road, Farmingdale bid their son, Jeffrey
goodbye as he prepares to leave for a three month
work- study program in Israel. Schwartz, 20, a
rabinnical student at Yeshiva University has just
completed his sophomore year. He joins 200 other
students who during the mid- East crisis will work
in various civilian jobs vacated due to the mobilization
of reserves. The work- study program is
normally carried out in Israel to give the students
an opportunity to study Hebrew culture. Young
Schwartz graduated from Farmingdale High School
in 1965.

For Dr. Albert Meyerstein
John A. McLennan, principal
of the Farmingdale Senior High
School, will act as master of
dinner to be tendered Dr. Albert
N. Meyerstein Thursday, June
15. Dr. Meyerstein, who has practiced
for 27 years and retires
this month after serving as
School District 22 as full time
physician for the past seven years
and as part time physican for
17 years.

at the Four Seasons Country Club,

John J. McCarthy
Passes Away
John J. McCarthy of 25 Bernard
Street, Farmingdale died
suddenly on Sunday. He is survived
by his wife Mary, a daughter
Patricia Mohrnann, a brother
Eugene, and two sisters, Nora
Phelan, and Katherine Early.
The deceased was a member
of Our Lady of Fatima, General
Assembly Fourth degree, Knights
of Columbus, Lindenhurst, Council
Knights of Columbus, Massapequa
Elks, and Massapequa A-merican
Legion. He was formerly
associated with the Office of the
Defense Transportation in Atlanta,
Georgia.
A mass of requiem was offered
at St. Kilians Roman Catholic
Church on Wednesday at 9: 30
a. m., followed by interment at die
Long Island National Cemetery.
The funeral was under the direction
of McCourt and Trudden
Funeral Home, 385 Main Struct,
Farmingdale.
