Army Private First Class Paul
J. Collins, 20, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert J. Collins, 23Cleveland
Ave., Massapequa, was assigned
to the first Infantry Division
in Vietnam.
Pvt. Collins, a rifleman in the
division's 1st Administration
Company near Di An, entered the
Army in January 1967 and was
last stationed at Ft. Jackson,
S. C.
He is a 1966 graduate of Massapequa
High School and was employed
by Bucknell Press in
Farmingdale, before entering the
Army.

Coast Guard Cadet Second
Class Robert L. Pokress, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Jackson B. Pokress
of 508 Atlanta Ave., North
Massapequa, a junior at the Coast
Guard Academy in New London,
is taking part in the Academy's
annual summer professional
training program.
The program, which began in
June, gives the future Coast
Guard officers an opportunity to
apply practically the knowledge
they have acquired academically.
During the summer, cadets will
be receiving at- sea experience
aboard the 295- foot sailing bark
Eagle and four other high endurance
cutters. They will also
receive basic knowledge of Coast
Guard aviation at an air station;

the promotion of Robert
F. Doll from Assistant Manager
to Manager in the Medford office,,
Doll resides in Farmingdale,
New York, with his wife, Ethel,
and their three children.
Doll joined Security in March
of this year. He was formerly

expert with the M- 14 rifle near
the completion of his basic combat
training at Ft. Campbell,

The expert rating is the highest
mark a soldier can achieve in his

two- week phase of the Army Reserve

Lt. Cmdr. John Peters of 10
Arlyn Drive, M a s s a p e q u a,
is serving as Aircraft Maintenance
Officer keeping jets flying
in Naval Reserve Attack Squadron
831. Peters returned to the
United States Naval Air Station
in New York Sunday after completing
two weeks active duty
training at the United States Marine
Corps Air Station, Yuma,
Arizona.
The squadron has been honored
several times in the past as being
the most outstanding light attack
squadron, by type, in the country.
