T'S in the lecture numbers. Music and entertainment there will be—and a-plenty of it. But the MEAT is in the flve lectures. Talks like these are pace setters and thought stimulators. They make a man grow overnight. They lift him up as by his boot straps. They set him thinking in new trains of thought. They> broaden his horizon and give him a bigger look at things. Each day of the Chautauqua brings its special message in form of a lecture.

LEE FRANCIS LYBARGER
of the Philadelphia bar on the first day. Millions of dollars that come from the pockets of taxpaying American citizens are wasted every year by means of pork barrel legislation in congress. It ia one of the most serious ques¬ tions confronting the nation. The methods of government expenditure must be corrected, and it is the duty of every citizen to give the matter his best thought. Another matter of importance is every mcin's duty to his commu¬ nity. Both of these great questions are discussed by Mr. Lybarger under the head "The Community Conscience."
ARTHUR DELROY
is president of the New York Psychic Club and an exposer of psychic fakes —mind reading, slate writing, etc. He is also an authority on character de¬ velopment by suggestion. His lecture he calls a "Psychic Melange," and it will be entertaining and to a certain extent mystifying as well as decidedly instructive. Second day.
FREDERICK WARDE.
distinguished Shakespearean actor. It is fortunate we have him here in this notable Shakespearean tercentenary year. He will appear in a lecture-re¬ cital which he calls "Shakespeare and His Plays.'* •
DR. EUCLID B. ROGERS.
educator and orator. Dr. Rogers has won g^reat popularity throughout the middle west, where he is best known, for his inspirational talks to young men and women. He is said to have influenced thousands to pursue courses of higher learning. He will speak on the fourth aftemoon on "A Living or a Life."
ANDRE TRIDON.
Mexican war correspondent. Mr. Tridon was in Mexico as a ccnrrespondent for the Outlook and Independent at the time of the landing of the United States troops at Vera Cms and has seen much of Mexico. He has degrees from four great universities, was trained for a diplomatic position and served three years as an attache at the Peking embassy. He will speak on the last day on "An Inside View of Mexico."
