On Friday and Saturday the Boy Scouts of America, of this village went on a hike to Mineola and camp¬ ed on the Fair Grounds over night. The troop was under the able com¬ mand of Rev. R. Knight. On Satur¬ day the Bellmore Scouts, with other troops of the island acted as guard at the annual picnic which was held at the ground. Quite a number of people was present at the affair and the Boy Scouts acted very gentlemanly in directing the people and guarded the grounds. On Friday night the boys certainly did amuse themselves camping. Some of the fellows told stories and others jokes. The most disagreeable obstacle that the boys had to put up with was the awful mosquitoes. But after a while the boys were able to make friends and passed a very quiet night. Well those pests have to stir up something al¬ ways , but that is one of the mean things in camp life
