BIG HORSE SHOW AT MINEOLA FAIR
The sixteenth annual Horse Show hejci under the auspice.^ of the Agri¬ cultural Society of Queens-Nassau Counli(>s will open on Wednesday of Mineola I-'air week, which is from Tutsday, September 2.'ith, to Satur¬ day, September 21Uh, inclusive.
Till- Horse Show, >\hich will be held on \V(-dnesday, Thursday and h'riday, is one of the important de¬ partments of the Mineola Fair. It is iriipoiiani from a social standpoint, as it marks the opening of the hunt- In.c season, and many of the promi¬ nent resident.;; who have already made entr;»n-. will open their country houses and ther<- will be many lnuiso pnities held, and the quests will be in daily attendance at the Horse Show, where some of the best known thorough¬ breds, many times winners at such shows as Madison Square and Piping Rock, will be seen in the ring.
Secretary Thomas H. Bacon, who is in charge of this department, has announced that the entries will close on Wednesday, September 12th. He has had prepared the prize list, and the classes have been arranged with a view of the interests of all lovers of the thoroughbred.
There has been great attention paid to the ponies' classes and there will be the usual long list of entries in the hunters' classes.
Manager Bacon, who Is Secretary of the Horse Department, began this feature some years ajfo. but so suc¬ cessful has he been that the Horse Show Is one of the big departments of the Mlneol* Fair.
