A large crowd gathered in the Methodist Episcopal chapel Thursday night and enjoyed the entertainment furnished by the Christian Brother¬ hood to their lady friends. Mr, Chas, H, Southard, tlie president, presided In his usual genial manner. The en¬ tertainer for the evening wa« Mr. Am¬ brose Jeffries, an especially good ma¬ gician and ventriloquist, and the pro¬ gram he furnished was thoroughly en¬ joyed. The audience also joined heartily In the singing of old familiar songs. Refreslimeu'ts were served and all present enjoyed the occasion.
The annual strawberry festival of the Ladles' Aid Society of the Meth¬ odist Episcopal churcii was held In the chapel Thursday evening with a good attendance, A program of music and readings was furnished by Mrs. Valentine Sobie. after which Ice cream, cake and strawberries were served by the ladies.

On Sunday morning tbe .Methodist Episcopal church cidebrated the sev¬ enty-second anniversary of its organ¬ ization. The church was arlistically decorated with flags and flowers. Judge rjeorge Wallace, of Freeport, addressed the congregation and spoke of the phiirch as he liad known it in the past and compared it with its present activities, giving plain facts.
