credit is due the entertainment com¬ mittee for the hard work performed In getting donations, games, music, and such competent helpers as .Mra. F. A. O'Keeff, Mcs. Roy Billings, Mrs. Ooirah (from Brooklyn) and Miss Mary Unhauer. and believe me they let no one get by without taking a I chance or a grab.
Mr. John Koenlg was kept bustling attending to tbe raffle and wheel of fortune with Mr. Dlehon assisting. Mr. Roy Billings and .Mr. Roy Lln- steat took charge of the Dart and Doll game.
Seaford was notably represented, a crowd coming down on Hendj-lcks Farm wagon. .Mr. Chas. Frisch and Mr. F. O'Kecfe were on hand to wel¬ come them with their broad smile. Of course, Mr. F. A. O'Keefe had to sing by request, his famous latest song which brought much applause.
Mr. M. O'Neill also sang his fa¬ mous "Little Bit of Heaven."
The large prizes were won as follows:
6 Cockcrals, Mrs. T. Valley; $10 Gold, W. Schmidt, of Hemptsead; Gold Cuff Buttons, Wright; Portiers, T. Sabla, Merrick; Scrim Center Piece, August Hoffman; Gas Range, Mrs. F. A. O'Keefe; Case Wine. Chas. Frlsch; Coffee Guess, Mrs. R. Bil¬ ling; Perculator, M, Shci; Cut Glass Bowl, Mrs. Wantervltz; Pillow, J. J. Koenig; Writing Set, G. Bennett
Smith, Freeport; Jardtnierj J. T. Powell of Seaford; Ham, P. Swann; Oil Painting. A. Merrick, Bellmore; Apron, Mrs. Skow.
It was certainly one affair in
which Smithville can be proud. Some

Of course the Famous Bill Kraft was there with his red hots. Charles you oQght lo feel proud of your company also with the four ladles who heli>ed so nobly. All those who failed to attend missed an affair which will be very hard to duplicate.

High Hill Beach,
Sunday. My Dear Friend:
Following your sugges¬ tion that a tew lines description of the writers voyage to the beach and such events in transit as might seem interesting and worthy of comment, has imposed upon the writer a task somewhat beyond his present capac¬ ity, because shace arriving here he bas had but one desire and tbat for sweet and calmful sleep. Rip Van Winkle was indeed a wise man. Nev¬ er before did I realize what a pan¬ acea was sleep for one who never took time to consider Its great im¬ portance.
Somewhere it is written that man's duty to himself is: "Eight hours for /«leep. Eight hours for refreshment and Eight hours for the service of Ood." I think that is right but to satisfy me here, I would prefer to deduct four hours from refreshment and make it twelve for sleep. I am not diverging from the truth when I say that that waa my portion last night. Mr friend from Florida who Is here with me is having the same experience and says it is the strong sea air.
