ITS NAUTICAL ADVANTAGES ARE MANY
Real Estate Men Look for Good
Spring Business- Property Values
in Nassau are Increasing
By Samuel R. Fisk
Every oilier man wlic* depends upon real estate as a means of siibsistance and opertitcs on Long fslnnd, esiiecial- ly along the South Side, is of a frame of mind Iliat this will be a good year lor business. And the rest, perhap.J a little less optimistic, are looking for clouds with silvr>r linings and an early spring with threatening hoi weather.
It is generally conceded that a fair market lias been rudely broken by liie varied and severe weather of tlie past inontii. Yet tliere has been .some ac¬ tivity. The hirger lot selling conceins of the South Side have been doing a lair kind of a business, and tlie record- (id private sales aliuin the assertion llial the greater aeiivity in realty has been along llie souitiern waterfront.
According to llie Post's reliable ;50urce of information, money—for mortgages or building—is freer today than at any lime during the entire year. It is especially noticeable in tlie liistricts of Long Isiand hereabouts, wliere realty and building activities have centered during ihe past three iiionthf;.
"The natiiical attractions of Ilemp- ;-.tead and Hewlett Bays, Long Beach,' with its stretch and the accessible lerry from Fneport to tiie sliore liave .ittracted a imtjoiity of the i>eriiianent ' .esidcnts of this section," dei iared ai ¦irominent operator this morning, "It j .s an easy mailer for residents of JempBtead, Ocean Side, Kockvilie | 'entre, Lynhiooii, Valley Sii«ani, and , other villages of the Soutii Side to | :;et to the watering places via trolley. \.iul i)eople seek tlie water. They aie .vont 10 live near il. ^
"The inciease in property values in Nassau Couniy is greater than in any oUu'r i-oimty of the State outside the I'rreaier Cily. Tiie character of the iieighborlioods has been largely made according to the train service and transit facilities. The same trains and trolleys that pass througii Queens county serve tht^ people of Nassau, with the r(?sult that ii has becoiiK- a lesidenlial area just beyond the limits of the city."
