NEW WAGE SCALE FOR CONDUaORS
L. I. R. R. Employees Confer Over Differences but Rate Remains
A committee representing the con¬ ductors' association of Lhe Long Inland Railroad conferred wllh the General Manager McCrea recently concemlnK the adjustment and general settle¬ ment of dlffeiences. The employees of all tb eastern trunk lines have ac¬ cepted the fol'-owlng scale of wages:
On both steam and electric lines, conductors will be paid |4 50 per day, 45 cents per hour overtime, and 2 9-10 eenta per mile on runa. The milease for one day shall be 122 tnilnn or less on the electric division. All conduc¬ tors have a twenty-eight day guaran¬ tee for every c.ilendar month.

Rev. Scott Will Succeed Re rington on June 1
The Uev. Re^naul Herber .Scott, a graduate of Trinity College at Hart¬ ford, Conn., and until recently curate at Chrl.st Church, Bedford avenue, Urooklyn, under the Rev. \V. S. Chase Cannon, will become the rector of the Church of the Transfiguration. Free- port on June 1, according to an an¬ nouncement made at the churcli ye.s- terday. The Rev. Scott accepted the call following a recent reception here at which he wa.s the guest of honor. The new rector succeeds the Rev. A. VV. K. Carrington, who accepted a call in February to Church of the In¬ carnation, Cate.s avenue, Brooklyn, where he had been curate for a num¬ ber of years, leaving the church with¬ out a preacher. Pending the action of the congregation the pulpit wa:-' fllled by clergymen assigned by (he Bishop. The Rev. .Scott preached in Freeport during the past month. Thr reception took place on Tuesday and the Rev. Scott "saw" Freeport. The call followed.
According to tho vestrymen of the Church of the Transfiguration, the Rev. Scott will preach his first ser¬ mon in Freeport on Sunday, June 7. It is expected that he will take up his residence here this woek. He is a man of titrikiiig aiipearance, re.-em- bling the Rev. Carrington lu uia::y le- Kpecta. He is about thirty years old.

FATHER O'TOOLE COMING TO FREEPORT
Will Succeed Father Boyle Who Goes To Hempstead Church
With the announcement of the transfer of Father Robert E. Boyle, | acting rector of the Church of Ourj Holy Redeemer, Freeport, to the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at Hempstead, it became known today that Father John L. O'Toole, rector of the Church of St. Leo, at Corona, has been appointed by Bishop McDonnell as permanent rector of the Freeport diocese. The changes will probably lake place within the month.
Father Boyle will succeed the Rev. William O'Hara, D. I)., who has been connected with ihi Hempstead for a uumber of years, and the latter In turn will go to St. Bartholonieu's Church at Elmhurst. Fatlisr Boyle came to Freeport from St. Augustine's Church, Brooklyn, where he served as assistant rector for several years.
The Rev. O'Toole, who will come to Freeport, was educated at St. John's College, Brooklyn, and in Rome. He was formerly conected with St. Charles and St. Vincent de Paul churches. He ts well known on Long Island aod in Brooklyn.
