II. Singing ot Artoii Oloui by Ihe ( hildren's choir.
The history of the organization as larraled below will be read next, and I will afterwards be burled accord¬ ing to the customary way in the foun datlon of the corner stone.
The Congregation Bnal Sholauni, Is tlif crowning achievement of the Nas sau County Hebrew Association which was first organized, September "JOth, 19ti6, with the following original mem¬ bers: Max Levy, I. Jacobson, H. Sch- los.s, A. Mlntz, A. Levin, Edward Slav enliagen, George, Joseph, I. Aronson, 1,. Leder, N. Cohen.
This oiganization has heljJed lo bring the Jewish residents of Rock ville Centre in closer contact, has lu jcilitated the means for holding reli I Kiiiiis services among ils memberM j und later was lo grow and develop lo I ihe present state of the lull Hedged i act.ve and vigorous organization. { 'llie oiganization in ils early years of existence feels indebted lo Mr. A. .Miiitz lor having devoted his residence I for the purpose of holding religious services. Mr. Edward "'StfiVenhagen, who passed away in October, 1911, WHH the last president of the old re¬ gime. Duiing Ills adniinisLralion Ihe lust meeting was held on August, 1911, and fater this dHle there was a period of inactivity until the spring of 19n. There were no meetings held during this interval, hut the reaction so tu say, had a favorable climax in llie end. The members have recuperated during this period of idlen<>ss, new blood has been Infused in the iiihiii beislii|) and in .\pill lilh. I'.il:'., ili< first meeting ullei I lui I ui Augii.it, 191:!, was t:illid lo orUer.
This last meeilng had a fair atlen dance, an entliu.siasllc and aggressive session, and the following offlcers were elected: Mr. Philip Goldberg, pit sident; .Mr. Joseph Ellas, vice pres- ideiil; Mr. A. Mlntz, treasurer; Mr. S. Goldberg, Mr. H. Schloss, trustees; .Mr Mux Levy. Mr. M. Markowitz. I liaiii.iuii ol Board of Education.
Inder the able leadership of this m-w admiuislratiun, the organization piDgressed rapidly. Meetings were I,eld al regular intervals, ideas and ;ai,^geslions regarding the welfare of I 111' organizatton were entertained and discussed wilh vigor and enthusiasm .suh as never before.
Another election took place In April, 1914, and the rfn ¦ ers were re¬ elected. Only Mr. A. Mintz for busl¬ nesa reasons resigned his office as secretary, the duties of which bti so praiseworthy performed In favor of Mr. H. Newman, who H the present secietary and who has pioved a i wortliy" successor to Mr. IMntz.
Among many things the organlza- lioii recognized that the soul of a Jewish community is religion and edu¬ cation, and that the body tha^ harbors this could within 's a synagogue and a school ll i<:<iizi'd th.it the needs of i;s ;.H ¦. : ip with respect to a
schooi for the young was pressing and imminent for a Jewish education could not otherwise be given to them, and without such education the child¬ ren reared suriidst country surrotind- ingfl of their noble ance.mors. It therefore formulated the plans for the building of sucb kcIiooI and syna¬ gogue.
The undertaking waa great but the officers like faithful seamen have pi¬ loted the difficult ship through a sea of storms and hardships to safety and destination. '
The organization Is greatly indebted (o|- Its pret<eiil succeus to the Ladies' Auxiliary, that under the able leader ship of Mrs. Stavenhagen left nothing undone lo give ils full support to the noble undeitaking for which this or¬ ganization was HO valiantly working. They have demonstrated once more that Ladies* Aid is indispensable to the accomplishment of any great cause and that the Ladies' of Rockville Cen¬ tre are fully awake lo their duties in tills respect. V
The organization also feels indfliled to Mr. O. Reissman of New York Cily, architect, who ha;; diligently prepared the plans for the building and to Mr. Henry Rausch of Rockville Centre, who has taken thf- contract for erect¬ ing the building.
Due tribute must also be pa'd to Ihe building committee consisting of Mr. Joseph Elias us chairman; Mr. Philip Goldberg, Mpx Levy, H. Sch¬ loss, Samuel Goldberg, Mr. A. Mlntz and Mr. Rothhelni, as associate inera- bers. This conunlttee has most nobly performed its duties thus far by care¬ fully selei ting the plot, design and style of structure, by economically managing tho resources of the organ- izatllon devoted to building purposes, and by judiciously awarding the con¬ tracts for building upon the many es- limates furnished.

A COMPARISON AND
A CONCLUSION The food value of milk is very high.
Practically speaking, a quart of milk supplies as much nourishment as a pound of beef. In this era of high costs the conclusion is evident: Lessmeatandmoremilk.
