Sunday, Mav 26, is to be one of the great ousUndlng days in the hiatory of the church. At the morning service, at 10.30, D. B. P. Mott Post, G. A. R., snd the Woman's Relief Corps are to be the guests of the church. 'Seats will be reserved for them in the cen¬ tral eection of ths church auditorium. The new pastor, Rev. Everett A. Bnmea, will give an appropriate talk on "A Memorial—Old and New," The choir has arranged special music for the occasion.
In the evening another patriotic service will be held, making the day distinctive. At the evening service a message on "The Why of the War and Our Duty" will be the pastor's suibject. Patriotic hymns will be used and each person who attends will be presented with a copy of a little song book, "Sonw of Our Country." Thia book will be worthy of a place on the home piano for constant use.

A soldier visitor to the meeting of Freeport Council on Friday evening was Brother LeCroy of Winona Coun¬ cil No. 4 of Chattanooga, Tennessee. He exp«ects to sail for France soon. The southern visitor, who is at Canvp Mills, made an interesting speech and said that if he returned from across the sea he would make a return visit to the Council.

Hempstead (Special)—Contracts for erection of the new Town Hall were awarded by the Town Board on Tuesday.
The successful bidder for general construction was Thomas Dunn, of Saratoga Springs, 167,402.90.
For the electrical work the Hudson Electric Company of Manhattan, was awarded the contract at $1,576; plumbing and drainage, James Mc- Cullagh, Inc., of HkkaviUe, $4,949; steam heating, W. K. Morsn of Mt Vernon, N. Y., $6,447.
The total sum to be spent for the new building is $78,694.90, and as soon as the contracts are executed and the proper bonds given by the successful bidders the work of build¬ ing will oommencs.

The Good Cheer Club will appear in a three-act comedy, "The Farmer¬ ette," under direction of Mrs. Harry J. Thomas, one of the caste, at the Parish House on Saturday evening, June 8, at 8.30. The talented Paul- ton Trio, on tha same evening, will give a musical comedy, "The Blind Beggars." Proceeds from the enter¬ tainment will be for the org-an and heating funds.
