HORSE WINS CLASS A RACE AT

Mc¬ Klnney broke in hi,-- first heat on the turn, but caught quickly, Mr, Law¬ renee bought the t,ray horse from William"tJartrell for $2,000, and he will doubtless pace close to the two minute mark before the end of the season.
Another acclden; was narrowly averted in the eighth race, when Jeau Oakland, driven by W, Gartrell, the former owner of Mc¬ Kinney, was pulled up by Gartrell to avoid running over Flying Feet, who had broke when going at top speed, Jean Oaklanil went down be¬ hind, but Gartrell managed to pull her to her feet antl tinish the race. TAKE CARE OF YOUR EYES
All work done by artificial light imposes some strain on our eyes. Mott every person values his eyesight, and would not know¬ ingly subject it to unneoesiary danger.
Statistics show that a large percentage of weak eyes grt un¬ doubtedly caused by the "glare" of artificial lighting. Owing to the small area ^ the light giving source in a metallic filament lamp compared to the mantle of a gas lamp, the light from a gas mantle is by far the most tabdued and pleasing artificial illumination.
