KISSES BOyCOTTED
By
ULTIMATUM DELIVERED BY DR. BOLDUAN OF STATE BOARD t OSCULATION OF SWEETHEARTS PROHIBITED.
Total abstinence from kissing dur¬ ing llie present grip epidemic is the advice issued by Dr. Charles Bol- duan, director of the bureau of pub¬ lic health education of the board of health of the State of .Mew York. The ardent oticulation of sweethearts and the caress of a mother for her infant alike come under the ban of Dr. Bol- duan, who said:
"The deadly grip bacilli loves noth¬ ing better tlian lo spring from the depths of a lover's throat, speed across the bridge made by a kiss and jump down the throat at the other end of the kiss. Jl you kiss when you have the grip you are almost cer¬ lain to transmit the malady with your afl'ection."
Not content with Ihe ultimatum against the kiss, Dr. Bolduan further warned residents of the city to keep oui of stuffy theatres and restau¬ rants and to leave wine and whiskey alone.
"Grip, alcohol and bad air iead straight lo the undertaker," he aaid. The complete set of rules wliich he promulgated are as follows:
"Keep away from those who .sneeze and cough.
"Keep out of crowds.
"Keep away from stuffy restau¬ rants and tlieatres.
"Don't overeat.
"Cut out wine, whiskey and other alcoholic drinks.
