Meuotninee, WU.—Since Mabel Hen¬ derson killed a wolf with a mop han¬ dle she has been kept busy answering letters that poured In from all parts of the country. Some wrote from curios¬ ity to flnd out what kind of a girl she was and others merely wanted to con¬ gratulate ber.
When Miss Henderson stepped out of the house she saw the family dog fight¬ ing witb tbe wolf. She seized the moji handle, the flrst weapon that came Into ber hands, and went to the dog's res¬ cue. She killed tbe wolf and received a bounty of f 10 from the Hecretary of state, witb a personal letter of congrat¬ ulation, nnd also $10 from the county,
Tbe skin of the wolf Is t)elng made into a set of furs, which Miss Hender¬ son will take pride in wearing,
"It wasn't much." said Maliel, "1 saw the wolf and got mad. I did not tblnk of being In danger myself and just grabbed tbe flrst thing I got my hands on. That was all. I was sur¬ prised that the animal did not run away, I guess I surprised him and hit blm so hard the first time that be was too stunned to think of getting away.
