Dr. Massell Opens Office in Silver Lake Pharmacy Building.
At least four times in the past have young and inexperienced dentists opened dental oflices in Baldwin, but unsatisfactory work made their stay short. Baldwin, with its tlirousand or mire population, realizing the ne¬ cessity for the services ol' an up-to- date surgeon dentist, through con¬ certed efforts, have indiu'cd Dr. S. .\. Massell of Brooklyn to move to Hald¬ win an open an oiflce.
Dr. Massell haa had c|uiie or nearly flfteen years 'experience, a full equip¬ ment of all appliances necessary and needful in the careful ami proper exe¬ cution of dental work, and is con¬ stantly in reacli so that any one, whether in a case of ordinary work, or an emergency, may find him and obtain his services and the conee(iuent relief. Great care and thought should be exercised by the people of Baldwin to call and get acquainted with Dr. .Massell to the end that both may be profited and Baldwin retain that which is absolutely necessary in any progressive village, a flrst clas.s surgeon dentist's establishment.

I The Baldwin Hook, I.,a(lder ancl ; Kngine Company No. 1 held a meet- j ing at the F'ire Hail, Giaiul avenue, I last Monday evening, to receive a re- I port of the purchasing committee on I tlie new power hose wagon. The re- I port showed that the work on the niotor and engine by...£U«ard Bedell, land on tlie hody by Theodore Bedell, was satisfactorily and acceptably com¬ pleted. F'inal acceptance was defer¬ red until Wednesday evening, that the boys might liave an opportuniiy to try out the niotor and become somewhat familiar with its manage¬ ment and control.
At a special meeting Wednesday evening, the truck was delivered to, and formally accepted by the depart¬ ment.
The committee of Baldwin llook, Ladder and Fingine Company .\o. 2 on purchase of power ho.se wagon re¬ ported at its meeting Wednesday evening that Edward Bedell had ex¬ amined and overliauled the chassis, and tliat Theodore Bedell was com¬ pleting tlie body and, barring unfore¬ seen accidents, the hose wagon will be delivered on Muy l.'>. Sulflce it to say that, with tlie e(|\iipnient of these two power hook, ladder and hose wagons, Baldwin stands second to no village in its class for lire protection. .Neither can there be any moro en¬ thusiastic departnient found.
Of course, tlie boys are not praying for a flre, so they may get out and show their apparatus, but it can be' safely assumed that it would not re¬ quire much of a smoke lo lure the boys up the street with this new Thomas flier at 7.") miles per hour, or less, to ascertain the cause.

May lUli, will be held in the woods. These young ladles meet regularly and sew and make dolls, doll clothing and clothing for personal wear, together with various toys for the children's liomes and hospitals.
A more commendable and apprec¬ iable object could not be promoted than the Sunshine Club, whose cheery disposition and extreme af¬ fection seem to be carried in the pres¬ ents they make to the gloomy walls of the hospitals, and there change an expression of jiain and sadness to one of joy and gladness. Mrs. F'rancis ,M. Mliler l6 the teacher and instructor of this club of young girls and de¬ serves great credit for the loving in¬ fluence and control exerted over them.

BALDWIN'S MODERN DRUG STORE Stop! Look! Listen! There can he no more serious ques¬ tion prefiented to the people of today
than that of having their prescrip¬ tions filled, not only with the best
and freshest drugs, but by men of known ability and experience. Bald¬ win is now equipped with an up-to- date drug store. Mistake.'^ In pM^ing up doctor's pre¬ scriptions may result in death. You cannot afford to fool with medicine when you are ill or when any mem¬ ber of your family is ill. You ought to go to a drug store where exper¬ ience Is at your service.
The Schultze Brotheis have had long years of thorough training and experience and their career in Bald¬ win is a fltting testimonial,^not only to their ability but their courteous, prompt and etflcient service. Their increasing palronage has shown a ne¬ cessity for a hranch in the Baldwin Harbor development section, and to meet this demanct they have rented and are e<|iiipping an up-to-date store on Church street, where one of the brothers will be constantly on hand to tend, not only to prescription work, but to give his advice*in such mat¬ ters as druggists are usually con¬ sulted uptm.
