On Tuesday, March 27th, a repre¬ sentative committee of the Citizens Improvement Assn., headed by Us president, Major J. J. Dixon, present¬ ed a petition to the Town Board to abolish the nuisance, as above men¬ tioned, an adequate description of which is too disgusting to attempt.

Last Friday evening the Boys Brig¬ ade of America, held their weekly meeting in the auditorium ot the new school. Quite an active gathering ot boys were present. Capt. Guy Russell was also present for about the flrst time since the troubles be¬ tween the United States and Germany. He put the boys through some drills, and later awarded some members higher offlces for their faithfulness during Commandant Peterson and his absences.
Among those who were appointed higher positions were: John Bergen, captain; Robert Wallace, lieutenant; Pete Salmo, sergeant; James Griff ths, H. Pearsall and Wallace Mole, corp¬ orals; John Clark, quarter-master: and William Browne treusurer and clerk of the Brigade.
Before Capt. Russell departed all the boys wished him the best of luck and hoped that he would soon return to the Brigade again. Any boy twelve years ot age or over, who wishes to become a member ot the U. B. B. A. will please attend one of the weekly meetings on Friday evening at the new school or see Capt. John Bergen who will take charge of the matter.
