The Christian Brotherhood held ils first outing last Saturday. The men went to Freeport by automobile, trol¬ ley, etc., to the South Shore Yacht Club,, from which they were convey¬ ed hy sail and niotor boats to the Soulhard cottage at Southard's Point. A fine dinner was served under the supervision of President Charles H, Southard, whose genial smile and liospitable manner made the occasion an enjoyable one. The report of the chief of the fire department regarding the offlcial test of hose on Augrust 14 was read and accepted.
The designs for new street signs as submitted by Trustee Maxson were accepted.
The flre council's invitation to the board to participate in the parade and inspection of the fire department on Labor Day was accepted.
An application for extra police pro¬ tection on Labor day and the applica¬ tion by the fleld day committee of the fire department for the closing of Olive Boulevard on that day were granted.
On recommendation of the fire council it was decided to accept the proposition of James F^airbrotner tu transfer chemical tanks on Truck No. 1 at his bid of $no.

Owing to the stormy weather the attendance at the Epworth League sail last Saturday was not as large as was anticipated, but those who at¬ tended thoroughly enjoyed the occa¬ sion.
An unusually flne song recital was given in the Methodist Episcopal church last Wednesday night by Mr. Albert Lewry, baritone, assisted by .Miss Florence Brunson, soprano, and Mr. Ed.trara K. Marrum at the piano. Mr, Lewry very kindly donated the proceeds to the work of the Epworth League.
The primary department of the Methodist Episcopal Sunday school held its annual picnic on the church .grounds last Wednesday afternoon. Numerous games for children were arranged, after which all received the usual treat of ice cream and cake.
