I,K ITERS
To the Editor The Nassau Post:
Those who have negleclod lo make the most of these strange aud horri¬ ble "ondilions. better gel thinking: when we could have bought flour at normal prices, we did not buy that barri 1, which would have saved the family so much expense. .Now in con- seque'ice we suffer. All these necessi¬ ties are very much higher than we have ever seen them. Let's stop say¬ ing v'hat we should have done, but think what we can do now to make the most of the situation. Buy some real estate; it is at a low t>l)b at Iiresent. Get a little of- it. The holders are sick with their heavy bur¬ dens, f.nd some of them too impatient to wail even a few months for a cer¬ tain I ise in values. You who do not own a home can he benefited by this situation if you buy now. Take the opportunity and be thankful, for it would not he easy to build now, and there are many good homes for sale at prices lower than we will see them again. Buy a home or buy some acre¬ age. This great movement toward ag¬ riculture has only commenced.
These aie just a few ideas from an old Txmg Islander. ,

Under these circumstances, unless the ^.cvernment takes over the food suppi}. when we are actually at war. we i:i\a Imagine a housekeeper going down to the coal yards and ordering thrc" coals tor the month's supply. If soin" genius now would only discover a method of generating coal heat by] .soiii'-- device, wherein we can warm up an en'ire room, with a coal, he would; be a .-om|nion benefactor. As for gaso¬ line, we 'are lead to look upon that as , a lux.IIy. in which the man or woman ; with an auto, or a damaged suit of; clotlii-s, can And some degree of com- I fort.
We never did like potatoes much. We are strons for a big reduction in coal prices.
