Change Festival Name
This year, the Harvest Festival
of the Christ Church will be-known
as the Winter Festival and
will be held in the Parish Hall,
Peninsula Boulevard and
Hempstead Avenue in Lynbrodc
on Saturday, November 9, from
10 A.M. to 5 P.M.
A ski shop, featuring cider and
"donuts," plants and gifts of all
kinds, including homemade
aprons, mittens, socks, dusters
and pot holders, as well as toys
and other articles, will be on sale.
There will also be a religious
shop. Grannie's Attic will have
lots to offer for all ages, a
Christmas Boutique and gift
table, and other areas where
residents can browse.
The bake table will have cakes,
pies, cookies, bread, candy and
other home-made delicacies
available for purchase.
There will be a fish-bowl of
chances for some wonderful
prizes.
One can enjoy lunch or af-ternoon
tea, and children can see
movies and play games.
All proceeds will continue the
work on the Christ Church, both
in Lynbrook and abroad.
Display Watercolors
Prize winning watercolor artist
Andrew Stasky will give a
watercolor demonstration on
Tuesday, November 12, for the
public and the Malverne Artists
of Long Island, at the Malverne
Library, 61 St. Thomas's Place,
at 8 P.M. The public is invited to
attend.
Stasky has exhibited ex-toisively,
including an exhibition
of oils in the Emperor's Place in
Tokyo, when in the air force. He
also has received various awards
in Far East Air Force
exhibitions.
Some of his recent awards
include first prize in the Hun-tington
Art League, and ad-ditional
first prizes in the Nor-thport
Art Exhibit, and the
Rosiyn Chamber of Commerce
Art Show. He is also associated
with the Firelight Gallery in Dix
Hills, and the Long Island and
Ron Lewis Gallery in Quogue
(Suffolk).
Plan G)untry Dinner
Saturday night November 9, is
the date. East Rockaway
Firehouse on Main Street in East
Rockaway is the place. For a
$12.00 donation to In-tercommunity
Nursery School
and Kindergarten, you can have
a country dinner for two and a
chance to dance to the calls of Irv
Monthie, a well-known
professional square dance caller.
There will be games and prizes
for all not to mention a raffle
drawing for a vacation weekend
and other prizes. The time is 8:30
P.M. and there will be a bar. For
further information call Bess
Farrell at LY 9-9125.
