The Nassau Board of
Cooperative Educational Ser-vices
(BOCES) will award
certificates next week to 18
Lynbrook High School students
who have completed a year or
more of study in a BOCES oc-cupational
education program.
One of the students will receive a
special award for outstanding
achievement.
The youngsters are among 220
teenagers from 58 Nassau high
schools who will receive BOCES
course completion certificates
this month.
The youngsters ~ a record
number ~ have taken a year or
more of occupational education
as a high school program elec-tive.
They have attended a
BOCES center for half of each
school day, and have spent the
remaining half at their home high
schools pursuing their academic
studies.
Now most of them are heading
for jobs in fields for which they
trained at BOCES. But many will
continue their education in two -
year colleges. And some will
enter the armed services, while
others will become homemakers.
The Lynbrook High School
