concerning his overseas

Sunday, June 9 at 11:00 a.m.
As a missionary with the
Conservative Baptist F^oreign
Mission Society of Wheaton,

businessmen, international
families and fellow missionaries.
Hong Kong Baptist College,
where Phillips served as
professor of Old Testament and
as athletic director, contains 18
academic departments divided
into four branches: 1) Art 2)
Business 3) Natural Sciences and
Engineering 4) Social Sciences.
Most of the college's 3,300
students are Buddhists or claim
no religion. Many come from
refugee homes or have escaped
teachers and staff taught Can-tonese
and Mandarin to 56
missionaries who will minister
among Orientals.
After earning his B.A. degree
from Wheaton College, Wheaton,
Illinois, Phillips attended the
University of California in Los
Angeles. He and his wife received
missionary appointment in 1962.

the past nine years. Under his
coaching, college teams have
won championships in soccer,
swimming and track.
IN 1971 Phillips accepted the
college's dean of students
position. This office involved him
in student affairs such as student

Bicycle Registration Program
As a continuation of Lynbrook's
fine bicycle safety programs, the
Lynbrook Auxiliary Police Unit
will conduct an "Identi-Bike"
program for residents of the
village. Bicycles will have a
special number engraved on the
frame. This number and the
manufactuer's number will be
recorded at Lynbrook Police
headquarters. It is hoped this
program will discourage bicycle
thefts and help recover bicycles
when a theft is reported.
Members of the Lynbrook
Auxiliary Police will be at
Lynbrook North Middle School,
Merrick Road on Saturday June
15th, and at Atlantic Avenue
School on Saturday, June 22,
from 9:00 to 12:00 noon on each
date. In the event of rain they will
be available on Sunday June 16 or
23, as required.
Services for Malverne Fire Department members, who have answered their last alarm, were held at
the monument on Broadway across from the firehouse. From left are: Chief William Cresswell, Daniel
