Lynbrook, and, at present, plans
to present two major concerts
during the winter and spring. The

Peter K. Ledwith was born to
Peter G. and Anne Ledwith in
Brooklyn, N.Y. He has one
brother, Eugene ("Gene") who
resides in Rockville Centre now,
a sister, Kathy, now Mrs. Feue of
Miimaroneck and his youngest
.sister, Mary Anne, who resides
here in Lynbrook with her
parents on Union Place.
One reason it is nice to be able
to interview this line young at-torney
is because I watched him
grow up as a neighbor across the
street from my own home and it
is a rather wonderful thing to see
some of our finest young Lyn-brookites
come home and settle
down right in their own home
town and start right in making
valuable contributions to the life
of the community with the type of
careers they have chosen.
Peter and Anne Ledwith. the
handsome mother and father of
Peter moved to Lynbrook when
young Pete was just 10 years old
and their family gradually came
to be born here over the years. If
home is where the heart is, then
young Peter has always loved
Lynbrook and never considered
settling in any other place when
he reached maturity. He at-tended
and graduated from St.
Raymond's School, Bishop
Loughlin High School in
Brooklyn, Providence College,
and F^ordham Law School.
Peter is a tall, extremely fit 6
ft. weighing 190 lbs. with blue
eyes and flaming red hair. He
and his brother have always liked
athletics since their father first
played ball with them and taught
them to swim. Peter G. Ledwith,
his Dad was New York State
Champion in many swimming
contests and to see the father in
the water racing his two fine
stalwart sons is a scene I vividly
remember at an upstate New
York lake with the father winning
handily and the pace a mighty
swift one. This was when both
Ledwith boys were teen-agers
and had attained quite a bit of
prowess themselves. In school
Peter played basketball as his
favorite sport and took part in
many high school and college
games.
He opened his law office on
Rocklyn Ave. in 1967 and began
practicing Law. In 1969, he was
appointed Prosecutmg Attorney
for the Village by Mayor Francis
X. Becker. He has since suc-cessfully
tried many cases in the
Village Court representing the
Village of Lynbrook and has
justly earned a reputation for
doing an excellent job in every
case he has handled.
He is married to the former
Susan M. Boyd from Malverne
since 1963 and the young couple
have six beautiful children. He is
the father of lour boys and two
girls. Peter, the Fourth is. the
oldest, at 9 years of age, then
Christopher, age 8, Kevin, age 7,
Laura, age Jennifer, age 3, and
baby, Timothy, at 8 months.
Golf is Peter's main hobby and
chief relaxation as his work and
family keep him quite busy. His
children naturally want a lot of
their Dad's time and this
is something he enjoys, as well.
His lovely wife, Susan, who
Peter calls the "real heart of the
home" and an "excellent
mother" likes to cook surprise
dishes for the family and is quite
a wonderful person.
The most memorable event in
his life to date was watching his
lather build up Ledwith Oil Co.
from 1 truck with two customers
to the multi-million operation it is
today. He claims that his
mother's inspiration helped his
lather tremendously and it was
really an amazing thing to see
just how hard his lather worked.
The second most memorable
time in his young life was his
marriage to his Susan, "the
guiding star" of his life. If Peter's
quotes sound poetical, it is
because he had a secret ambition
to be a writer when he was in high
school and will probably still
realize that ambition as he is still
a very young man.
Peter and Susan and their
family reside on Pearsall Ave.,
Lynbrook and there is no doubt
that they must have a great time
at holidays, etc. with their fine
family as many couples with
larger families have fond
memories of hi-jinks with
their brothers and sisters. He
belongs to St. Mary's Council of
the Knights of Columbus in
Lynbrook the P.P.O.E. 1515
Lynbrook Elks, the Chamber of
Commerce of Lynbrook and
various attorneys organizations.
He enjoys sports with his
children and they have a lively
and active life with Peter as their
father.
It is so easy to close my own
eyes and visualize this young
man carefully and skillfully
giving his little sister, Mary
Anne, a ride on his bike as they
went zipping up the street that it
makes one wonder just where has
the time gone?
The Ledwiths are a wonderful
family and as each member
reaches maturity one realizes
that it is because of the
remarkable job that their
mother, Anne Ledwith, and
father, Peter G. Ledwith, with his
