PTA Central Council
Offers Special Tour
Reservations are being ac-cepted
until Monday, March 6th
for a special tour of the School
District #12 (Malverne) facilities.
The program is sponsored by the
Central Council of PTAs in the
District and it will familiarize
district residents with the
operations of the Elementary,
Middle and High Schools.
All are invited to participate in
AWARDS
PRESENTED
The Junior Chamber of
Commerce of Lynbrook
presented its annual Christmas
decorating awards. The grand
prize for the Village went to Mr.
& Mrs. L. DeSanto of 156 Surrey
Commons. First prizes in three
divisions were awarded to Mr. &
Mrs. Harry Prevete of 87 Spencer
Avenue, Mr. & Mrs. Arthur
Semmig of 61 Carpenter Avenue
and Mr. & Mrs. Wilson Skewes of
87 Union Avenue.
Plaques in recognition of their
achievement were presented
jointly by Edward Martin of the
Junior Chamber of Commerce
and Lynbrook Mayor, Francis X.
Becker. Mr. Martin .said that the
task of selecting winners was

the tour which will take place on
Friday, March 10th when a bus
will leave the south parking lot of
Malverne High School at ap-proximately
8:45 A.M. and travel
to Davison Avenue School and
Lindner Place School, then
return to the High School for a
tour of that facility and the
Herber Middle School.
Those who join the tour will
have an opportunity to see a
science exhibit, a gymnastics
demonstration and artwork. A
complimentary luncheon will be
served by the students of Mrs.
Butler's Home Economics class
at the Middle School. Everyone
will have an excellent op-portunity
to see all of the schools
in action.
Be sure to make reservations
by, or before Monday, March 6tli.

Corresponding Secretary Elaine

expected to run until ap-proximately
3:00 P.M.
Phyllis Lushbaugh was born in
Ridgewood, Queens to Gladys
and Jay Feast and is an only
child. Her parents are active and
she makes her home with them
here in Lynbrook.
Phyllis is the Deputy Village
Clerk of the Incorporated Village
of Lynbrook and she is one of the
most dynamic and interesting
ladies in this area. She attended
public school in Queens and
graduated from Far Rockaway
High School.
She worked for many years in
private industry until she went to
work for Bulova Watch Co. as an
Executive Secretary. She
married Eugene Lushbaugh and
had one child, daughter Susan,
who is now 20 years old and a
Junior at Adelphi University.
Phyllis is a vivacious, warm
type of person with innate tact
and sympathy and insight for
others. She simply loves people
and is a natural born leader in
couses in which she is interestc-d.
She is a stunning and attractive
honey blonde of 5 ft., 3 in., with a
trim 125 lb. figure and a lovely
smile which lights up her whole
face. She has a quick wit and can
truly appreciate a joke. Her quiet
wisdom and life-long pursuit of
knowledge is a mark of just how a
lady like Phyllis continues to
grow like mellow wine a better
and more knowledgeable person.
She has a nice complexion and
blue eyes and dress with good
taste and discrimination.
Although Phyllis is essentially .a
career gal, she loves and ap-preciates
her home and like
warm rich colors and a relaxed
atmosphere. She drives herself so
hard in the pursuit of her work
and her pet interests that she
often works much too hard and
needs some time to enjoy her
favorite sport of swimming.

brook residents and Phyllis
became Deputy Village Clerk in
1968. She enjoys her work and is
very happy with the personnel of
the Village HaJl and meeting
residents with some problem
they need strightening out.
Phyllis has loved swimming all
of her life and once was a com-petitive
relay swimmer in her
younger days. She favors royal
purple, bright rich yellow and
orchid shades in color and
usually selects her wardrobe with
these shades in soft but definite
color effects which are truly
original and a mark of her good
taste. She is an extremely busy
volunteer and is Assistant
Secretary to the Senior Citizens
Housing Authority, Executvie
Director of LINK, the drug -
prevention program and an
active member of the National
Wheel Chair Athletic Assoc.
Her first ties and keen whole -
hearted interest in this group
began when she worked for

Senior Citizen Special
An opportunity for senior citizens to eat a nutritious hot meal at a
special rate has been arranged by the County of Nassau Department
of Senior Citizen Affairs.
The Brick Cafe at 147 Lakeview Ave. Lynbrook has agreed to serve a
complete, well-balanced meal between the hours of 11:30 and 2 P.M. at
a cost of $1.50 per person, including gratuity, from Monday through
Saturday.
Senior citizens who wish to ta^-.e advantage of this program may use
their County or Town identification cards.

The Long Island Sanitation Officials presented
Henry P. Weissenberqer with a plaque for his
faithful service. Mr. Weissenberger recently re-tired
after twenty five years service as Supt. of
Public Works for the Inc. Village of Malverne,
