CASO HELPS LAUNCH SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS
APPEAL IN NASSAU COUNTY
The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal got underway this week with
the appearance of the traditional "Christmas Kettle" throughout
Nassau County. Donations dropped into the kettles are used to
maintain the Army's year 'round program of service to members of
the community in need. One of the avenues of assistance is the
Christmas program of providing food, clothing and toys for the joyous
holiday season to those families who would otherwise face despair.
The spirit of Christmas is also brought to the homeless, the alcoholic,
the derelict and others to whom The Salvation Army means hope and
help.
In the above photo Nassau County Executive Ralph G. Caso laun-ches
the Nassau County Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Drive,
accompanied by Salvationist Mrs. Lawrence Moretz of the Hempstead
Corps and Samuel Sloan, Chairman, Salvation Army Nassau County
Advisory Board.
