BUSINESS AS USUAL: Back to school is the watchwood now, but there wasn't too much rest for the

school was out in order to line up programs, aiH)»oint personnel and finalize plans for the 1972-73 school

THE TOPIC? POLITICS: The subject of discussion is politics, in particular the candidacy of
Dominick M. Minerva (right) who is running on the Republican ticket for Assemblyman in the 19th
Assembly District. The occasion for the discussion was a kaffee-klatsch at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
John Flowers of Lynbrook (center). Joining Jn the talk (left) is Jack Canavan of Lynbrook.

Boulevard, Malverne has been
elected (3iairman of the UFSD
#12 Citizens Advisory Committee
replacing Mr. Robert Fraissinet
who served in that capacity last
school year until he was elected
to the Board of Education in June
of this year. Serving as Vice
Chairman is Mr. Robert Thweatt
of 21 Lincoln Road, West Hemp-stead.

Roar At
The Races
The Lynbrook Lions Club
through its chairman Don Matzen
announces plans for "A Night At
The Races" on December 4, 1972
at the Roosevelt Raceway.
This is a FUN night and for
$12.50 per person you will have
dinner WHILE WATCHING THE
RACES FROM YOUR TABLE.
The price includes admission to
the race track, admission to the
Cloud Casino, dinner, gratuities,
and the pleasure of being with the
LYNBROOK LIONS while they
roar the winners in.
The Club's members have
already taken more than half the
tickets and now are making the
balance available to the com-munity.
Many of Lynbrook's
leading citizens will be attending
and the Lions are hoping that the
REAL racing fans can attend and
help make the evening
PROFITABLE. It will be en-joyable
for all.
On September'15th, at Greis
Park when the Village will be
having its Night Under the Stars,
tickets will be sold. If you cannot
be down that night but are still
interested call Past President
Lester Forest at LY-3-6835.
Come spend "A Night At The
Races" and help the Lions in
their charity work. We have a
choice location at the "finish
line" and if the weather is cold,
the Casino is enclosed and warm.
Mark your calendar for
DECEMBER 4th - 1st race goes
off at 8 PM ; dinner begins around
that time; people will start
coming from 7 PM on.
The Citizens Advisory Com-mittee
was particularly active
during the last school year and a
number of the recommendations
they made to the Board of
Education were acted upon
favorably, including the adult or
" C o n t i n u i n g E d u c a t i o n"
program which is being launched
this year.

Lester Wolff, Representative in the Third Congressional District and

country atmosphere at our beautiful Greis Park at Wilbur Street
and Merrick Road, Lynbrook, N.Y 50 picnic tables and fire places
are available on a first come first served basis.
