LYNBROOK MALVERNE EAST ROCKAWAY
V«l. 12 No. 1 Entered Secoftd—CiaaB Matter
Post Office. Lynbrook, N.Y. L Y 3-1300 THE FAMILY NEWSPAPER Thursday, May 25,1972 10^
"FISH 'IN" with a little help from our friends, (r. to I.) David
Choate. First President of Lyn-E.R. Fish with the Drehers-
Ida, Karen, Ted.
We went FISH'IN with a little
help from our friends! We went
along swimmingly or should we
say floodingly at times during
Fish Week. All of us -in the
Lynbrook-East Rockaway Fish
want to thank the many people in
our towns who made Fish week a
success- Our Mayors, all the
clergy, the newspapers who gave
us excellent coverage, and the 20
groups of hundreds of young
people who delivered our flyer to
almost 13,000 residents. And
especially the Scouts under the
direction of Mr. Peppito and Mr.
Mines-we're grateful. It's quite
an experience to feel the warm
response of so many to our appeal
for new members. To all those
who gave donations-thanks-since
it pays for our 24-hour
emergency number: LY-3-5100.
We welcome more people to join
with us in serving the community

Smile When You Buy a Poppy
When you are asked to buy a
Buddy Poppy during the coming
sale in this community, do it with
a great big smile on your face.
And remember that it is the most
grateful investment of your loose
change you can ever make!
Across America lens of
thousands of men and women
volunteer poppy sellers are of-fering
you a once-a-year op-portunity
to personally thank the
uniformed lads who have made
the supreme sacrifice and those
countless men in hospitals who
may never again be physically
lit.
Maybe the government does
give a few bucks a month to their
survivors and maybe the
disabled are given free
hospitalization, but the help you
can give them through the Poppy
sale conducted by their own
organization comes from your
heart - not through what you are
forced to pay in taxes.
If your gratitude means more
than lip service, buy and proudly
wear your Buddy Poppy when it
is offered by a Veterans of
Foreign Wars volunteer.
