A new and talented youi^
gentleman on the scene here in
Lynbrook is Malveme's loss and
our gain in the interesting per-sonality,
Barry A, VanName,
soon to be the new Manager of the
National Bank of North America
in Lynbrook. He is only 31 years
old and has already piled up an
enviable record of accomplish-ments
in his life.
He was bom in New York City
and grew up in Hollis Queens
to quite well-known parents. His
father is a Director of the U.N.,
Mr. Esmond VanName and a very
active person in his own right,
and is mother is a dedicated
General Practioner of Medicine
who uses her own name profes-sionally,
Dr. Hazel Miller.
Barry is very proud of his
parents as well he might be. He
has one brother, Kerry in Stony
Brook, who is an artist.
He attended public school in
Hollis, Queens, and graduated
from St. Paul's High School in
Garden City and Hofstra Univer-sity,
. majoring in English. He
still attends college at night in
order to further his education
and will get his Master's degree
in the near future because it
takes a bit longer when one has
a family and works all day as
well.
He is a very athletic 185 lb.
six footer who is very handsome
and pleasant with a talent for
listening to people and truly
showing his interest in others
and desire to be of help to them.
He has light brown hair and blue
eyes and dresses neatly and with
style and a certain conservative
verve in his very individuality.
He excelled in track and field
sports in high school.
His hobby is writing and one of
the most memorable moments in
his life to date was the day he
received his very first ac-ceptance
and check for an in-teresting
human interest story
he wrote. He writes all types of
things, especially childrens'
stories and assorted technical
articles and is still persevering
until he finds just the right type
Bajrry A. Van Name
of writing he likes to do best of
all.
His favorite colors are black
and red together which shows
just how different he tinily is.
Another highlight of his life
was his marriage to the beauti-ful
blonde former Linda Ray-maley
in 1959 and the couple
have three children. A daughter,
Kim, age 10 is the oldest, a son,
Christopher, now age 9, and their
beloved new baby little Warren,
age 1 1 / 2 years. His family has
just returned from a long visit
to Hawaii where his children
attended school for a brief
period and enjoyed the climate
while visiting a famed photo-grapher
friend of his wife's on
the island of Kuwaii. All the chil-dren
are professional models
and his oldest son, now 9 posed
for the baby picture on the Ivory
Snow products. He raved about
his wonderfully talented and
beautiful wife and his great joy
at the birth of each of his fine
children. His wife is an excellent
cook and Barry cannot resist
her Veal Parmagian and Lasagna,
