more of them may sign on with
the various Citizens' Advisory
Committees as they represented
a great deal of talent and ex-pert
actual experience in many
fields of endeavor.

want Village Police
want County Police
Listed below are some of the answers to "Reasons Why." Space
does not permit us to print every reply, but the ones chosen are ex-amples
of the many received.

FOR VILLAGE POLICE
REASONS WHY:
So that Lynbrook has proper
and continued good police pro-tection.
When a policeman is
needed one <Joesn't have to wait
for a long, period of Mme.
• •• • ^ • j B b ^ • • " •
TKe interest';^/vmage Po-lice
show, is more personalized.
They are part of our village.
* • _ *
As a Police Officer for the
City of New York, I can see
the fine job the Village Police
are doing. They are well worth
any tax increase.
* * *
After living in two different
villages one with county and the
other village police. I have
found the village police give bet-ter
protection with more personal
interest.
• + *
The Lynbrook Police is an
outstanding police force, recog-nized
as such through out State.
Lynbrook residents are fortunate
in having "instant police"
working for them, whose first
interest is Lynbrook's residents
and property. Certainly they
should receive equal pay., money
spent in their direction is a
better investment for the Lyn-brook
taxpayers than in the con-demnation
of homeowners prop-erties
for a soccer field for the
high school. "Estimated sav-ings"
'-rarely turn out to be sav-ings,
as Lynbrook residents have
good reason to know.. let us have
the. good sense to keep the fine
protection we now enjoy and many
other communities wish they had.
P.S. Absolutely, We have no con-nection
with the Police Force!!
• " * •
Local police more familar with
town make-up: Nassau Police
precinct (Baldwin & Elmont)—
too far removed from village
for effective service--unless a
new precinct is created for Lyn-brook.
I think Lynbrook Police are
efficient, respected and are worth
the extra tax dollars.
• * •
I consider our Village Police
in closer touch with our cit-izenry,
than County Police ever
would be. We have an efficient
Police Force, so leave it that
way.
* • *
I think our police are different
from the County. I don't want
police that we don't know and if
we go into the County they may
transfer our Police.
* * *
Better and more frequent pro-tection
at nite and day. Lvn-?
"brook has a very, very, very
good Police Force, it would be
a shame to take it away. We
have the finest men and they
sure do a very good job. KEEP
LYNBRO*O K POLI•C E DEP•T .
They are efficient, polite men.
When needed they come within a
matter of minutes. Especially
Ptl. Dan Carrano.
FOR COUNTY POLICE
REASONS WHY:
The present system is nothing
more than a duplication of honest
and efficient Nassau Police Serv-ice.
• * *
As I understand it, this move
would save taxpayers money. God
knows my total taxes here are
beyond my reach now.
One thing I'd like assurance
that Village Police would be ab-sorbed
into the County Police
with any• job losse• s thereb*y .
As a new homeowner, I favor
the County Police if it will help
lower o*u r taxes* in Lyn•b rook.
I feel that Nassau Co, Police
have tremendous resources not
available* with V* illage *P olice.
Common sense dictates this
decision—A move from the Minor
Leagues* to the M• ajor Le*a gues.
I am for the economy of County
Police, IF, they wUl give the
same se*r vice as *V illage P• olice.
It. is to my understanding that
services of County Police are
always available, so why not
Cotnty Police.
* • *
I'm in favor of lower taxes
and t h e r e f o r e favor Nassau
County Police.
* * •
I feel we would get adequate
protection at much less cost.
* • •• *
I'm on social security and can't
afford any more increases.
