Bruce, age 10 and they have been
married 15 years. Murray loves
to make outrageous jokes about
his wife and family but is just
an old softy of a devoted father
and husband simply crazy about
his family. Murray is a rugged
individualist and this extends to
his taste in clothes. Ifls favorite
color is blue, but he is a familiar
sight in the Winter months with
his tall wolf fur hat which makes
him even taller and he claims aids
in his wolf whistling, silent most
of the time. He is a very hard
worker and truly is a very like-able
and kind person with many
many friends. His honesty and
forthrightness in telling one
where one stands can be counted
upon. He may be quick with a
quip but he is one of the most
thoughtful and sincere persons
In this afea. Murray loves
people and people love Murray
because he is down to earth
and truly Interested in commun-ity
betterment. In 1958, he was
then President of the old Lyn-brook
Board of Trade, when he
voluntarily stepped down from
his office as President to help
found the new community wide
Lynbrook Chamber of Com-merce,
Inc. which takes in both
retail and industrial firms and
professional people in the vil-lage.
Francis X. Becker, Esq.
was the Attorney for the Chamber
in drawing up the Corp. and ad-vised
and aided the newly formed
group. In 1965, he was un-animously
elected "Man of the
Year" by the Chamber of Com-merce.
This is his second term
as President of the organization.
His firm, Mur-Lee's Mens' and
Boys' Shop, 49 Atlantic Ave.,
Lynbrook has greatly expanded
through the years and now is
one of our leading stores in the
village. Mur- Lee's has sponsor-ed
a Mur-Lee's of Lynbrook
baseball team for the past fif-teen
years and it has been New
York State Champion for five
years. He also sponsors all
Lynbrook Little League activi-ties,
basketball and bowling am-ong
many others. He is a member
