CORNELL UNIVERSITY BAND
COMES TO LYNBROOK

Under the joint sponsorship of the Fine Arts Committee of Lynbrook and the Music Department
of Lynbrook High School, a concert by the Cornell University Band, numbering 112 men, will be given
on Friday, November 1, in the High School Gymnasium.
One of the highlights of the evening's concert will include the Lynbrook High School Band playing
together^ with the Cornell Band. The High School Band will be under the direction of Mr. George Clin-ton
and Mr. Gene Keyes, with the Cornell University Band being under the direction of Professor
Marice W. Stith, Director of Bands at Cornell University.
Robert Mirel, son of Mr. & Mrs. S. Louis Mirel of Lynbrook and a 1966 graduate of Lynbrook High
School is a member of the University's Band & will direct one selection on the evening of November 1.
MASON HAMPTON, REPUB-LICAN/

Mason Hampton, age 37, has
been a practicing Attorney for
t h i r t e e n years, seven of them
in Lynbrook. He was bom in
Westgrove, Pa. and attended pub-lic
schools in Maryland, Virginia,
Wyoming and graduated from
college in the Virginia Polytech-nic
Institute majoring in History.
He is a graduate of The Washing-ton
& Lee Law School in Lexing-ton,
Va. He is a Lutheran Sunday
School teacher and a member of
the Kiwanis Club. His direct

of North Carolina and Yale Law
School. He served two years in
the United States Army stationed
in Germany and is a recent resi-dent
of Long Beach, N.Y. His
