Mr, Donald Cosgrove, Super-intendent
of Schools in School
District #20 is a tall, lean, per-sonable
gentleman with a great
love of his work. He is 6 ft.
4 inches tall with wavy brown •
hair and the most gracious of
manners.
He was bom in Jersey C4ty,
N,J,, but he attended public
schools in both New York City
and our neighboring village of
Valley Stream, He has two other
brothers in the family, James,
from Alberquerque, New Mexico,
and Richard, from Hartford,
Conn. His father and mother,
James and Katherine Cosgrove
were both bom in Brooklyn, like
so many other Lynbrookites,
He served in World War II
in the U,S, Navy on LJS.T. craft,
which were Landing Ship Tanks
in the Pacific theatre of War
until 1946, He married the form-er
Gloria Bagly of Valley Stream
in 1&51. The Cosgroves have two
very lovely little daughters, who
seem« to take after their attractive
blonde mother. Little Desiree is
8 years old and Alison is 11.
They both attend Lynbrook Pub-lic
Schools, mainly because Mr.
Cosgrove thinks our School Dis-trict
#20 is one of the finest in
the U3.
He majored in Social Studies at
New York University. He came to
Lynbrook in 1960, as Principal
of North Junior High School and
was promoted to the post of
MR. DC»^ALD COSGROVE
Assistant Supt. In 1964, and to his
present position as Supt. of
Schools in 1966.
His favorite coloris red, though
he is a conservative dresser and
truly looks like an educator. He
likes popular music, even the
mod-rock and Semi-Classical, as
well. He is a bom extrovert and
likes young people and seems to
truly understand them because
he treats them like people and

Theodore (Ted) Reinhard,
Sales Executive of N.B.C., as
East Rockaway Chairman of
''Citizens for Nixon-Agnew,"
Reinhard, 37, resides with his
wife, Maureen, and two children,
at 735 Scranton Avenue, East
Rockaway. He serves as Chair-man
of the Zoning Board of Ap-peals
of the Village of East
Rockaway and is Vice-president
of the East Rockaway Action
Party. He is a member of the
Confraternity of Christian Doc-trine
and is active in civic,
business and charitable projects
in the East Rockaway area.
In announcing the appointment,
Senator Lent said: "Former
Vice-president Nixon and the
Nassau County Republican Com-mittee
are pleased that Ted Rein-hard
has accepted this important
campaign assignment in one of
the outstanding Republican vil-lages
in the nation.
"Ted Reinhard is known for
his ability to tackle volunteer
assignments with competence and
enthusiasm. We know that in the
weeks ahead, he will do much to
help produce a brilliant victory
for the entire Nixon-Agnew team
at the polls."

Special Election
In U.F.S.D. #12
A special School District elec-tion
to fill a vacancy on the
Board of Education will be held
on Tuesday, October 8th, from
11 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the gym-nasium
of Malverne Senior High
School on Ocean Avenue.
The Rev. Ervin F. Yearling
submitted his resignation this
summer.
Qualified voters who are not
registered will have the oppor-tunity
to do so on Saturday, Sep-tember
28, from 10 a.m. to 8
p.m. in the lobby of the gym-nasium
of the Senior High School.
Any voter who has registered
in the District under permanent
registration and has voted in an
annual or special District elec-tion
within the past two years
may vote on October 8th without
re-registering, provided he has
not changed his or her residence.
To vote in a School District
election a person must be a
citizen, 21 years old and a resi-dent
of the district for thirty
days preceding the election.
In addition, a person must have
one of the following qualifica-tions:
Own or be the spouse
of an owner, have a contract
of purchase for or rent, real
property subject to school taxa-tion;
The parents of a child
who has attended a District
school for at least eight weeks
during the past year; Head of
