Parade-Tournament
The Malverne Fire Depart-ment
will host the 23rd Annual
Fourth Battalion Parade and Drill
on Saturday July 9, and Sunday,
July 10.
General Chairman Is Chief
Carl Rebhahn of the Malverne
Fire Department. Honorary Cha-irman
is Mario Pollini, ex-chief
of the organizations. Others on
the committee are John Martin,
Louis Barker, George Arend,
Walter Fallows, John Kahler,
Charles Brower, Ernest Trotta,
James Bove, Albert Wollenberg,
James Montario, Richard Bull-oss,
Albert Catune, James May-ors,
Arthur Johnson Jr., and
Gregory Turrell.
The Saturday parade will start
at 6:30 p.m. at Franklin Avenue
and Legion Place. It will proceed
down Franklin Avenue to Rider
Avenue, left on Hempstead Ave.
thru the village, ending up at the
fire arch in the parking field at
Hempstead Avenue and Francis
Street. A block party will be
held at the arch site after the
parade, featuring free entertain-ment
and free dancing.
The drill will be held at the
same location on Sunday start-ing
promptly at 1:00 p.m. Par-ticipating
in the parade and drill
will be fire units from East Rock-away,
Lakeview, Lynbrook,
Rockville Centre and Malverne.

KIWANIS AWARDS: The East Rockaway Klwanls made their annual
student awards last week. Pictured above Edward Lefner (right),
Klwanls President presents the top awards to Anna Schweizer and
Joel Jacobs as ERHS Principal William Berg looks on. Laurie Keane
and Mary Van Nostrand received Service Keys; Ray Smith received a
Key Club Scholarship of $250 and Susan Murray received a $250
Nurse Training Scholarship.
