received one letter concerning
the flow of traffic on East Rock-away

been received during the same
period regarding the hazard of
the curve at Meadowvlew Avenue.
None of these letters were from

DOMINICAN CROSS PRESENTED TO CHRIST CHURCH: At a time
when relations between the United States and the Dominican Re-public
are deteriorating, some Americans and Dominicans are
developing stronger ties with each other. This Is the primary con-clusion
to be drawn from an event at Christ Church, Lynbrook, on
the Sunday after Christmas. An eight foot high cross of polished
green ebony was formally received and dedicated by the members
of Christ Church. The cross, made by the members of Todos los
Santos (All Saints), La Romana, and sent to the members of Christ
Church is intended to symbolize the relationship between the two
congregations that has existed for over five years.
Beginning with an exchange of visits between the Rev. William
Wlpfler, Vlcare of Todos los Santos, and the Rev. Christopher Web-ber
Rector of Christ Church, the relationship has grown through
newsletters and other visits and exchange of gifts. Each year at
Christmas the Church School of Christ Church has made a special
offering for the Parish Day School of Todos los Santos. This year
the ajd* has been returned with interest and the handsome new cross
will be mounted on the wall of the Christ Church Parish Hall as a
permanent reminder of the common faith and growing friendship
between the people so badly divided In many other ways.
Pictured above, Rev. Christopher Webber shows the cross to
Mrs. Muriel Hltchborn, Cathy and John Hltchborn and Mr. John Wels.
