At Freeport Station
Apparently Attempted
' To Board Moving Car;
^ In Doctors Hospital
A woman was? in critical condition
late yesterday at Doctors' Hospital
after a westbound train cut
off her right leg just above the
Imee at the Freeport station. According
to the police she apparently
tried to jump,on the train while it
was entering the depot during the
rain at 4 A.M. y^terday, loi^t her
footing and fell under the cars.
Mrs, Frances McHenry, 42, 2412-A
Grand ave.t Baldwin, was found
under the middle of the second
cor, with lier head facing cast,
about. 25 (eet from the esist end
of the station. According to tlie conductor,

she-evldently ran. and attempted to
board the train near its front end,
but may have slipped on the -neji

Patrolman Edward Miller of the

to both legs—the remaining left leg
