Salisbury on The Green,
Eisenhower Park, East
Meadow, N.Y.
Bruno Arena called the
Dinner to order and led in
the pledge of allegiance to
our flag. The invocation was
given by John Arculeo. The
president and officers were
installed by the Hon. Irving
F. Shaw, Mayor of the Vil-lage
of East Rockaway. He

The deadline of March 1
approaches and the Lyn-brook
Elks continue the
search for a local resident
who can qualify for "Mother
of the Year." If you entered
once and did not make it,,
please enter again!
The Elks are looking for a
woman who, in addition to
being a good mother, excells
in service outside the home:
hospital work, scouts,
community work, church or
synagogue activity, athletic
leagues, etcetera.
Locals are invited to sub-mit
resumes concerning
deserving candidates. The
deadline for submissions is
March 1, 1988. All submit-ted
materials will become
the property of Lynbrook
Lodge No. 1515 B.P.O.E.
and cannot be returned.
Sponsors should include
their names and phone
numbers.

14, there will no longer
be collection of mail made
on Sundays. Postal Custo-mers
who normally mail on
the weekend should deposit
their mail before the last col-l
e c t i o n on Saturday.
Express mail and Special
Delivery will continue to be
delivered on Sunday.
Delivery Services will
continue six-days each week
to homes, businesses, and
post office boxes. Post office
lobbies will remain open at
their normal hours when the
window is closed. This will
allow customers access to
their post office boxes and
the use of stamp vending
equipment.
Postal customers can also
obtain stamps through the
mail.
Stamps by mail forms are
available at post offices or
from letter carriers.
At The Library
Free income tax assist-ance
at Lynbrook Public
Library. For senior citizens:
Wednesday and Fridays,
10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., for
all other taxpayers: Wed-nesdays,
3:00 to 5:00 p.m.;
Tuesdays, 1:00 to 3.00 p.m.
and Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to
1:00 p.m. Please bring last
year's tax return and all per-tinent
data.

(BOCES), marks the culmi-nation
of an in-school, Arts-in-
Education orchestra
residency during which
members of the Philhar-monic
Orchestra spend time
at both Lynbrook and Free-port
High Schools tutoring
the student musicians in
small workshop sessions.
A special Freeport/Lyn-brook
(student only, open
rehearsal) will be held at
Lynbrook High School on
Tuesday, March 2, 1988
from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
This rehearsal will be open
to the public and will dem-onstrate
how the finishing
touches are applied, before
the final dress rehearsal and
concert.
The musicians from the
Brooklyn Philharmonic will
utilize their professional
training to impart their
technical musical skills and
their understanding and
love of classical music to
young aspiring performers.
Mr. Yuval Waldman,
Associate Concert Master of
the Brooklyn Philharmonic
will conduct the orchestra
and lead the young musi-cians
in a program that will
include:
Frank Schubert's "Unfin-ished
Symphony", Edward
Grieg's "Peer Gynt Suite",
Aram Khachaturian's
"Gayane Suite", Aaron
Copeland's "Quiet City",
and Ralph Vaughan Willi-ams
"March Past of the Kit-chen
Utensils".

On Friday, February 19th
at 2:00 p.m., the East Rock-away
Library will be pres-enting
THE PHANTOM
TOLLBOOTH (90 min.).
This animated film is the
story of a boy named Milo,
who leaves the real world
and discovers the Kingdom
of Wisdom.
Tickets will be available
on Thursday, February
18th.
Children under seven
must be accompanied by an
adult who remains in the
library during the length of
the film.
St. Paul's School Senior
Mathew Becker, the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Becker
of Summit Avenue in Lyn-brook,
has been unanim-ously
elected as the "Most
Outstanding Wrestler" in
the Martin Luther Invita-tionals
Tournament held

"Mathew is the Captain of
the Team, and his skill, tal-ent,
and fine leadership have
made this an especially suc-cessful
year. Mathew's 12-1
