ROCK RIVALRY HIGH KICKING WINNERS! No date or names were given to ye
historian with this fine picture but have been told that one high stepper was from Carol
Neiderstein's family and another, a daughter of Mrs. Humphrey who taught second grade
in Rhame Avenue School. Wonder how many others can identify themselves?? Wouldn't it
be great if any of the performers were in the vicinity and could take part in the East
Rockaway High School's Alumni play on June I Ith in the H-S.!

Brownie Troops 2072 and
2092 led the Pledge of
Allegiance.
On a personal note, 1
would like to add that this
special good government
night was a magnificient
example of the many virtues
of our youth. I personally
felt great satisfaction in
being able to share in the
beauty and the innocence
displayed by the Girl Scouts
who participated in the
evening's governmental pro-cedures.
Most importantly
as Mayor Shaw, Deputy*
Mayor Santino and Village
Trustees noted, a firm,
resounding thank you from
all Village residents to
devoted Scout leaders Mary
Gipson and Pat Racioppi.
They are fine examples of
the unique breed of
commitment which brings
about the best in our youth.

ERFD RECEIVES AID. The Kiwanis of East Rockaway
recently presented Fire Chief Chris Shelton of the East
Rockaway Fire Department with a $500. check to buy Pass
Alarms for his Department. These alarms are used by fire-men
at a fire. If a fire fighter becomes disabled and does not
move for 30 seconds, the alarm sends off a terrific shriek and
his fellow firemen come to the rescue. President Steve Sar-geant
presents the check to Chief Chris Shelton.
