there was not enough space
there I'or it.
The old historian has seen
all too many buildings go,
mostly because of the lack of
foresight and the almighty
dollar. Thankfully, because
of our Village government
under the leadership of the
late Mayor Charles Krull
and the urging of the late
Village attorney, W. Wesley
Hill the building for our
Grist Mill Museum was
saved. It was sad the old
Davison home on Main
Street (site now occupied by
Wendy's) could not have
been saved after it burned to
the ground. In older paper
clippings the building was
deemed "savable!" Oh well!
Another not too historic
but tiny abode of interest is
up for the "taking" if a taker
can be found. It is the small
house in back of Donza
Funeral Home on Atlantic
Avenue. A suggestion was
made that it would make a
nice addition to the Museum
in the Park. However, it
would take a bundle of
"huckleberries" from our
Huckleberry Frolics to
move it, even if Village
fathers were to approve.
